Karkat's POV
It was a sunny afternoon and of fucking course someone I mean John invited me to the beach along with Gamzee, Tavros, Terezi, Sollux, and Strider of all people. Strangely ny brother Kankri was there with he hates to admit it matesprit Cronus. Meanwhile Eridan and Feferi were life guards at the beach. Once again Eridan was slacking off and once again Feferi was covering for his lazy nook sniffing ass. Everything was just fan-fucking-tastic if only Dave would stop pestering me about going out for a swim. I sighed putting down my book. I had taken after my brother and started reading. At first I found it boring until Kankri convinced me that they were like written out versons of romantic comedys. After that I instantly fell in love asking Rose human for suggestions. Well anyways I sighed putting my wonderfully good book down.
"For the last fucking time Strider no!" I growled.
Come on Karkles it's not like you can't swim or anything," Dave said
I got up from my lawn chair asking, "Are you saying I can't swim for shit?"
"No that's not it at all if you cool your shit maybe we can still go for that swim if your up to it," he smirked.
"Oh I see your still staying I can't swim," I said.
"You know what I was trying to be nice so you can forget it!" Dave said turninf around.
"Wait," I said as he turned back around , "I'll go swimming with you no deeper then thw shallow water got it fuck ass?"
"So you can't swim?" Dave asked.
I sat back down shoving my face back into my book.
"Look I won't tell anyone but if you need help-," I stopped him right there.
"I don't need your fucking help!" I yelled fiercely.
By then everyone was looking at me and Dave left me alone for now. I felt bad for snapping at him I mean I usually do that anyways but it was different this time. I sighws as everyone's gazes soon went back to whatever they were doing. It was like I had snapped so many times they didn't even care anymore. What douche bags. The next time I put my book down Eridan was right in my face and I nearly jumped out of my chair.
"The fuck do you want?" I asked straightening myself up.
"Kar Dave told me what happened and I -," I interrupted yet again.
"That snitch! Look I don't need help like I very publicly said earlier now if you don't mind getting out of my personal space I'd highly appreciate it," I said.
"Okay," he said very calmly.
I was surprised by his attitude towards the situation usually when I take my anger out on others theu walk away. I put my book down and was prepared to listen to what he had to say.
"Go on," I said, "I'm all ear."
"Well if you want I can offer you some private lessons and you can come spend the night at my father's beach house this weekend," Eridan suggested.
I thought about it and answered, "I need tp sleep on it give me a night to to think about it."
"Okay when your ready all you need to do is ask," Eridan said, "but if you want to stay the night at the beach house it's okay with me."
"I'd like that," I said.
"Great," he replied.
My face started heating up when I noticed that Eridan was still leaning over on top of me his head on my chest. I didn't mind it at all in fact I quite enjoyed it I silently read while Eridan relaxed in my lap. I figured Feferi had enough of covering for Eridan and Kankri being the over protective brotherly type he is didn't like the idea of an Ampora on top of me.
"Eridan!" Feferi said sternly, "I cover for you can cuttle with Karkat how adorable!"
Meanwhile my brother had a different opinion on the situation.
"Eridan I would really appreciate it if you got off of my brother or at least show some self resteaint," Kankri said.
My eye widened looking down at the sea dweller who was giving me the most adorable puppy dog eyes just begging for me to let him stay there.
As my brother tried dragging him off of me I put my book down for like the fifth time today I said, "I don't mind if Eridan wants to stay but it isn't professional for you to be slacking off in the first place and I'm pretty sure Feferi doesn't want to cover for your lazy ass anymore."
Erdian got up stretching and I couldn't help but let my eye's wander down to his rippling abs. I hid my rosy cheeks behind my book and continued to stare at his hot body. I didn't realize of until now that I had a feeling as red as my face and it wasn't as vanilla as moirailigence.
"So am I picking you up tonight?" Eridan asked.
"Yeah yeah go you have to work," I said.
Eridan smiled walking away and I thought that everyone was gone and out of my face I sighed putting my book down. I soon regretted it as both Kankri and Feferi looked at my heated face.
"Oh my Karkat are you feeling alright your face is as red as a strawberry," he said feeling the top of my forehead.
I glanced at Eridan who was sitting around watching the people on the beach making sure no one was drowning hoping Kankri would take a hint. Unfortunately he was as clueless as when Cronus asked him to be hia matesprit but Feferi could see the fire in my eye the feeling i had for Eridan was thrown into the already passionate fire burning in my eyes.
Feferi smiled looking at me then at Eridan, "You like him don't you"
Kankri looked at her like she was crazy, "Feferi don't suggest something so absurd."
I chuckled the fact that Kankri was so clueless to the fact that i was attracted to Eridan was priceless, "Its funny how dumb you are!"
"So you do like him and your going to his cabin tonight aren't you?" Feferi asked.
"Tonight?" Kankri asked.
"No actually for the weekend," I corrected.
"The weekend?" Kankri asked.
"Calm down Kankri it's not like were going to be doing anything special you know just hanging out," i said trying to calm him down.
"Okay but it starts out as "juat hanging" out and then I don't even wanna tell you what happens next," he said.
"As if all you know is that Eridan is a good acquaintance of mine that is kind enough to over look my anger issues and invite me over for the weekend to catch up on old times," I said cleverly.
Feferi giggled, "If you say so."
"Don't you guys have something better to do with your time other then bug me about menial things like this?" I asked sarcastically.
"Okay if that's your way of saying leave me alone we'll take the hint and bug off," Kankri said, "Just don't get carried away this weekend."
"Yeah have fun on your date," Feferi cheered walking back to here station.
Kankri walked back over to Cronus and I looked back at Eridan. I picked up my stuff and start heading back to the house we lived a walking distance away so it wasn't much of a bother. As I walked I couldn't help but think about the weekend that Eridan had planned for helping me learn how to swim. And I was excited and looking forward to the weekend alone with Eridan.
