Eight A.M.

when I arrived at our dorm. Students were everywhere. While most were rushing to their eight A.M. class, I was just unpacking my things and got ready for my 10 A.M. class. The first semester's about to end and the Holidays are near. I have exactly this week to finish my exams and papers and  to make amends with my friends who were mad that I got the runs.

I went out of my room to grab a cup of coffee. People were crowding the coffee machine (available during late-semester and strategically placed in the dorm's lobby). A shameless cash grabber. The sight was rather mundane than how it sounded, though. Most of the residents who surrounded the brewery looked washed out and lifeless - normal; some looked and smelled like they bathed but still looked washed out and lifeless - also normal; and few looked decent even during hell week - speak of the devil, Matt and Jace.

The sight of Jace made me feel like I still had stomach flu... Maybe I did. But instead of looking apprehensive and pulling Matt away, he smiled...

ear to ear.

Before I even noticed, Matt was already approaching me with arms wide open giving me an excuse for my uncontrollable blushing. I shakily raised my arms - but he pushed them down (which was very embarrassing) and wrapped me by my shoulder turning us the other way around. We walked back to my room.

"I told Jace to grab a cup for me," he whispered, "so, did you survive?"

"Yeah! Luckily, I didn't contract e coli." I said while we avoided more caffeine-zombies.

"Not that! You know, Jace's daily assault of prejudice? Aren't you gonna tell me that you 'never expected anything more than just being friends with him' again?" he said jokingly.

His joke made me scoff and roll my eyes simultaneously. "Yeah right (really, I didn't). Why are we going back to my room - shouldn't we be heading to the cafeteria for breakfast?"

"Uh," His eyes swayed left and right, "to discuss the projects you missed - thanks to Mark's salad."

I grimaced as the phantom taste of unwashed lettuce and tomato visited my tongue once more. "Ew."

"Yeah, since he felt guilty, he covered an entire week of your work for you - you lucky turd."

"I don't think I'd consider two hours in the toilet lucky."

Matt chuckled. "Problem is: he made the mistake of submitting the same report for you as to his to Mrs. Melida."

"Oh god," I groaned.

"Yep," he nodded, "mow the campus' lawn or you'll never see your class card by the end of the semester!" he yelled in a squeaky voice as he tried to impersonate Mrs. Melida and her crooked back. "A true disciplinarian," he said as he held his chest and looked at the ceiling.

I sat on my bed when we arrived at my room. Matt sat on a beanbag that faced me. My stomach rumbled quietly. "Okay Davey-wavey, how's your tummy-wummy?" He asked pouting.

"Didn't I tell you I had to stay in the toilet for two hours every da-"

"Just kidding, I just wanted to discuss our holiday plans."

Oh golly! "We have those?" I asked trying to mask my excitement.

"Yeah, we did it last year actually," he left the beanbag and bounced on my bed, "after you left the Christmas Ball, Chris invited us to stay the night at their place. Jace suggested we'd visit each-others places after Christmas - so we did."

"Ouch." I said feeling jealous and left out. The only reason that I left early was that everyone was busy dancing and I had nothing left to do - not that I was bitterly watching Jace dance with a girl - not at all.
