Feelings

"Where are my parents" I ask as we drive down the highway, "I don't know, why don't you ask your girlfriend" Mr Lucas remarks. He's been like this ever since last week when he caught me and Tara kissing and pronounced our love for each other, I roll my eyes and look over to Tara "they should be where ever my master was" she says. "Where might that be princess" lucas says snidly "i can't really explain it but I'll show you" she says ignoring lucas' remarks. "Ok show away young lady" lucas says, for the next hour we head towards the Texas border leaving my home state Louisiana behind.

"Ok Tara keep your thoughts for the night, I need some sleep", "Why do you need so much sleep" I ask. Mr lucas looks at me,sighs and says "I can't control my magic if I don't have enough rest", "well that's ok because I can cast protective charms" I say. "No, to protect people from a death spell you either have to know their going to do it and deflect it or sacrafice your life for theirs" he explains, this hits me hard, so many people will give their lives for me I think to myself remembering Tim, how he died to give us time to escape from a man.

We pull into another hotel, this time it looks alot better but I'm not sure where lucas gets all the money and it seems like he has an infinite amount of it, always paying for everything with no problems and always in cash. When we walk into the room lucas jumps in the shower so me and Tara walk outside and sit on the back of lucas' camaro. "What's wrong" Tara asks sensing my feelings through the link, "nothing" I say instinctively, Tara grabs my chin and makes me look her in the eyes giving me the look I know all to well, tell me, it says. "I just feel like that all these people would give their lives for me yet I don't know why" I say, "because your the most important person in the magic world" she responds. "Why though" I say, "i don't know alot about the magic world Adam but there hasn't been a half wizard half warrior in a century and something bad happened that time" Tara explains. "Why does this have to be me" I say "why couldn't it be someone else, I can't take it", "Look at me Adam" Tara says waiting until I look at her "we are going to find your family and save them then if you want to we can find a secret place somewhere peaceful" she says.

I know that this could never happen, that people would search for me until I'm either dead or caught,but it doesn't stop me from imagining a life like that, smiling I lean in and kiss Tara "thank you" I say, "for what" she asks "for being here " I say smiling. "Cmon we gotta get back in before lucas throws a hissy fit" I say turning around and finding lucas sitting there,"I won't be having a 'hissy fit' as you put it Adam although I would be pleased if you didn't talk about your master like that" he says. "Sorry master" I say feeling a little ashamed of myself "it's ok Adam, just get inside and don't go outside anymore it's too dangerous" he says. Me and Tara go inside talk a little more in whispers before lucas says he can't sleep with us talking and we respectively go to asleep.
