We quickly run back to the barrier as hundreds of troops chase us, I have lucas' body over my shoulder holding on to some hope that he's not dead. He can't be dead I say to myself, he's always been there thinking about every birthday that he was at smiling as I blew out the candles. A Silent tear slides down my cheek and drops to the ground as we reach the barrier, "go on" I say "imma put up a trap", I quickly turn around putting a death trap on the ground and keep running.

Not a minute later I hear screams as they hit my electric trap and are killed slowly, holding up the whole army, bottle necking them at the barrier. We arrive at the camaro and I jump in the drivers seat, it never ceases to amaze me that even with 6 bodies the car expands to the correct size accommodating everyone comfortably. I floor it as people are jumping out of the forest to catch us we drive for a few hours towards Louisiana again, "what are we going to do now Adam" Tara asks, I stare forward not answering, I'm not really sure to be honest I'm just trying to get away from the forest, I think, but I can't say that I have to have a plan.

"We're going to go to a hotel and figure it out" I say, an hour later we pull into a hotel "get the money from lucas" I tell angel, ew no he's dead" she squeals, at this Tara reaches over and takes lucas' wallet from his pocket and hands it to me giving angel a look, "this is gonna be a long stay" I mumble under my breath as I get out of the car. I head to the front desk "I would like to but a room for one night" I say handing him a hundred and grabbing the key he holds out " it's only 50 to stay a night " he says, I turn around and look at the hotel seeing some work needs done. "Keep it"i reply, I walk outside and lead my family and Tara to our room, "everyone sit down" I say.

Suprisingly they all sit down and look at me, not expecting this obedience I look stunned and then recover, "mom, dad, explain" is all I say before they launch into an explination. "We aren't your parents Adam" my mom says, I'm so shocked by this that I stare at her for a second speechless "what " I ask still looking shocked.

"We aren't your parents Adam, Lucas is", a flood of memories come back to me as I remember him always being there, always treating me well even when I wasn't the nicest person, tears slide down my cheeks as I remember all the times he spoke to me with kindness only a father can have. "We're sorry but we couldn't tell you Adam, we swore that we wouldn't to keep you safe, he sacraficed his whole life for you, he was a great man" my dad says, he sacraficed, that word reverberates in my mind, he chose me over his wife, he chose to keep me hidden rather then know his own child for my safety.

"So angel isn't my real sister, and you guys knew about my powers the whole time" I ask, "no angel isn't your sister your an only child to the greatest warrior and wizard of the century, lucas and Beth hayes" my mom says the last part with pride in her voice "we didn't know exactly what you could do he never explained exactly, so we made sure to keep an eye and not let you get angry ever, like we promised, I'm sorry Adam" she says as she tries to touch my hand. I shake her off, standing up and turning around looking out over the city, "Adam it's not their fault, they had to make a promise" Tara says "we love you like your our own" my dad says, "I'm not your own" I say "my dad is dead, I never got to call him dad, I never got to hug him like a dad" I say. Tara grabs my hand and pulls me back to sitting on the bed, "did you know about this angel" I ask "she wasn't even born yet" my 'mom' replies "she didn't know anything except what we told her, which was to avoid making you angry".

Angel is sitting there with her mouth open, shocked from the revelation that I'm not her brother, that someone who has always been with her isn't linked to her, "your still my sister" I say grabbing her hand. Angel slowly closes her mouth and nods her head. "What are we going to do" I ask "well Adam your on your own, lucas told us that when the time came that you had to make a choice to go to a base somewhere in texas and to hide there, we are to leave you, we can't help you anymore" my dad says. "You can't just leave" I say "we have to Adam we promised we made an unbreakable vow", "why" I ask "why would you make a vow to a guy you barley knew".

"Lucas came to our house about 16 years ago" my dad explains, "he was holding a baby to his chest, covered in blood. We let him in seeing him in distress "they killed her" he kept whispering to himself "they just poof, killed her". "Are you ok" I ask over and over again, he looks at me with bloodshot eyes "your normal right" he asks me, I'm really not sure how to respond to this so I simply say "yeah I guess". Lucas explains that he needs help, he'll fund the child and even help us with money as long as we pretend that you, Adam, pretends to be ours, after discussing it for a while me and your mother decide to help and didn't want to just throw him back out and so we made the swear and we got to your parents" my dad finishes with an smile. "We already had a child and as you guys grew up and look alot alike we said you were twins" my mom says.

I turn around and start pacing "so you have to leave" I ask with a sigh "Yes Adam but if you want we can stay", "that means you would die" I say frustrated,"I know Adam" my dad says stopping me in my tracks "you have to realize we love you Adam and if you need our help then we'll die trying". "No" I say "You'll leave, here's some money to get a car and for the trip" I say handing him two thirds of the wad of cash. "Adam this is a hundred thousand" my dad says after counting it "it's fine just take it and go" I say feeling exhausted. "Ok Adam" my dad says, they leave giving me a hug and wishing me luck on my choice, "ill miss you Adam" angel says crying. I bring her in a hug and say in her ear "if you ever need me just tell dad ok", "yeah" she says nodding. "I love you" I say as I close the door never to see them again.
