The Saving

The Fortress

"We're coming onto the fortress" Tara says as we climb over another log, "what is it doing in the middle of the forest" I ask "mortals can't know that magic is real Adam" lucas says. We continue for another 20 minutes finally arriving at a cave entrance "this is it" Tara says "this is the entrance to the fortress", "this thing is littered with traps" lucas says "it's going to take me a while to work though these". "It's ok no one uses this pathway anyways they always use a teleporter" Tara says "Why don't we use a teleporter" I ask shocked that no one had mentioned this, "because there at least 100 guards covering that teleporter and we wouldn't even get there before being incinerated" Tara explains very vaguely but it's good enough for me "oh" I say.

30 minutes later lucas says "ok I've got all the traps, let's go", I'm first to step into the cave with sapphire at the ready and letting the blue glow light the way through the darkness. Suddenly the cave ends and we come to a large barrier. "As soon as you break this barrier an alarm will sound and we will be forced to fight our way to the master and back out again" lucas says "ok I say but can I talk to Tara for a second" I ask "go ahead" lucas says ignoring the request for privacy. I throw up a hearing barrier so we have privacy anyways "Tara I know this is alot to ask but could you stay here" I ask "why" she inquires "because your afraid that I will get hurt, I'm a trained killer and you tend to forget that sometimes Adam", "yeah I know but I don't know what I would do if you got hurt" I say. "How do you think I feel Adam" she says "I feel the same way, so let's watch ours and lucas' back and get this done" she says fircely, "I love it when you get fiery" I say and pull her into a kiss "incase we don't make it I say" smiling.

I take down the barrier around us "are you ready master" I say "yeah" lucas replies. I slip my sword into the barrier and cast a wind charm breaking a hole into the barrier, there's instantly 50 fighters in front of us. We draw our weapons besides lucas who starts finding the wizards and eliminating them quickly. Me and Tara guard him while he's doing this blocking and cutting and soon we have a wall of fighters making it harder for the others to get to us. After a solid hour of fighting I finally cut down the last fighter, sweating we climb over the wall and begin the trek over the bridge towards the ever looming end of it.

After walking what felt like miles we come to 2 big doors that tower over us, "what do we do" I ask "we push them" Tara replies walking up to one and trying to push it, as I walk over and try to help her she jumps away and yelps "no" I flinch back and say "what". "Only one person can push them open if more then one person tried to push it open they will be electrocuted" she explains "it's so that not just anyone can push them open they would have to be extremley strong, except I'm not able to push them anymore because I haven't been working out like I should have been". "Here I'll try" walking up to the door and giving it a little push, I feel it give a little so apply more pressure until it slowly creaks open to show a large room with pillars and fires on the side giving the room a strange flickering feeling.

"I see that you made it past my guards" a voice says from a large throne that takes up most of the opposite wall. The monster sitting in the throne is 10 times bigger then me and looks bored, "Adam" I hear someone say I look in the corner and see my family "angel" I gasp starting to walk to her but my way is blocked when the man that killed Tim walks in front of them.
