Autumn's P.O.V.
I woke to the sound of someone screaming. It took me less than two seconds to realize that it was Killian who was the one behind the noise.
Throwing the blankets off my body, I ran out of my room in search of my new friend, unaware of what I was wearing.
I found Killian trashing about in his bed, the sheets kicked to the bottom of the bed, revealing that he wasn't wearing a shirt. I was thankful for the fact that he had pants on.
Unsure of what to do, I moved to the edge of the bed.
"Killian," I called out softly, hoping that would be enough to wake him.
He was covered in sweat and his face was contorted into one of pain as he tossed and turned.
Tentatively, I reach out my hand and touched Killian's shoulder. He woke with a start, panic evident across his face.
I watched as he physically relaxed when he saw it was me.
"Are you okay?" I asked, sounding the way I felt: concerned.
"I had a nightmare," he said, sitting up.
I crawled onto the bed next to him and wrapped my arms around his bare torso, hope that would comfort him.
Killian stiffened for a split second before returning the embrace.
"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked in a small voice.
"No. Not right now," he sighed, resting his head against my shoulder.
The only other person whom I had embraced in my life was my mother. It felt strange to be in another's arms. I pulled away so I could study Killian's face properly.
Never had I ever seen someone so terrified of a nightmare as Killian was. There were dark bags under his eyes and his blue eyes had lost the lively spark that they held yesterday.
"I'll go and get breakfast ready" I said, completely pulling away from the hug.
My feet carried me into the kitchen, where I pulled another container of lasagna out of the fridge, separating them into two equal pieces on two separate plates.
I carried the food over to the microwave and placed the plates inside.I clicked a few buttons and the machine began to work.
From there, I began to search for a glass. It didn't take long to do so,and I took it over to the sink and filled it with water for Killian.
I was walking back to Killian's room when the microwave began to make a strange noise. I turned to see black smoke coming out of it. There was a small explosion and the microwave ceased to work.
The sound of footsteps took my focus off the smoking microwave and onto the one approaching me.
Killian stared wide-eyed at the scene before him, his eyes darting from me to the microwave and back to me.
"What did you do?" he asked.
"I don't know. I did exactly what you did last night. I put the lasagna on the plates and the plates in the microwave," I said.
"Did you put the forks in the microwave as well?" he asked.
"Yeah, why?" I replied.
"Oh, Autumn, you don't put metal in the microwave, that's what broke it," he said, slightly amused.
"I'll replace it, I swear," I told him.
"Okay,we'll go out today. You need proper clothing anyway," he said.
