It was dark outside by the time Killian and I had left the overcrowded mall. The two of us carried several bags that contained various items. We put all the bags in the back seat, with the exception of one bag that had a warm blanket in it.

I wrapped the blanket around my body before drifting off the the soft music playing on the radio.

I felt two arms pick me up out of the cruiser. Through my eyelashes, I saw that it was only Killian. He pulled off my boots before gently placing me on my bed.

He was about to leave when I began to move.

"Don't leave," I said quietly.

I didn't think he had heard me until the mattress dipped on the other side. I turned so that I was facing him and snuggled into his chest.

"Goodnight, Autumn, sweet dreams," Killian whispered, pressing his cool lips against my forehead.

I suppressed a shiver, snuggling closer to him before drifting off to sleep once again.

************************

The sun danced off my eyelids, causing me to open my eyes sleepily. I felt something heavy draped over my abdomen. It took me a few seconds to realize that it was Killian.

Last night flashed through my mind.

Where did I ever get the courage to do something like that? I wondered to myself.

"Morning, Princess," Killian's voice rang out. It was about an octave lower than normal, causing me to look up into his perfect blue eyes. I had learned to ignore the ridiculous pet name he had given me.

"Morning," I said, smiling up at him.

"How'd you sleep?" he asked.

"Fine, what about you?" I replied.

"It's the first time in three years that I didn't have a nightmare," he told me.

"That's great," I said, smiling.

"Are you hungry, I could make something to eat," Killian said.

"No thanks. I want to stay in bed for a little while longer," I answered, pulling the blankets up to my chin.

"Fine by me," he said, grabbing something off my nightstand.

It was a remote, but I wasn't sure what it was for, so I didn't touch it. With the click of a few buttons, a television monitor descended from the ceiling.

"That's what that's for," I said to myself, causing Killian to rumble with laughter.

"What do you want to watch?" he asked.

"I don't know. I've never actually watched television," I told him.

"Okay. I have a few movies recorded, so we can start with those. It could potentially be dangerous to watch a TV series, that leads to binge watching," he said.

I nodded, not really understanding what he had just said.

Killian put on some movie. He told me that it was a horror movie, and I nodded, having no clue what that meant.

I was enjoying the movie up to the point where some guy started killing people with a blaster. For fun.

I turned, burying my face into Killian's chest, only listening to the sounds of people dying.

"Are you scared?" Killian asked, wrapping his arms around me in a protective manner.

"A little ," I admitted, peeking up at him.
