The name was familiar but I couldn't think from where. I no longer had a weapon, but I could still run. We were on the top floor but if we were being honest, I'd much rather break a leg then face Alistair a moment longer.

I ran for my bedroom, turning to close the door only his arms reached through and blocked it. I screemed and pushed against it, trying in vain to keep Alistair out.

"Dear sweet Atarah, you think you can run?" His voice haunted me, but only made me more determined to get away. I would do this for her, she had died for me. I let go of the door and ran for the window. The door bursting open almost immediately, it gave me the feeling he had the strength to open it before and that he was only playing games with me. Like a predator would with ones prey. That is exactly what we were, and I knew which one I was.

I didn't hesitate as I lunged  my body towards the window, shielding my head with my arms. The glass cut the unprotected skin of my body as gravity threw me to the ground. I hit the hard pavement of my driveway with a resonating crack. I felt dizzy and sick but I was out in the open where someone could hear me.

"Help! Somebody help me!" My voice scratched out the cry.

I heard the front door open and I tried to get to my feet. My heart accelerated and I could faintly feel a wetness at the ends of my fingertips. I tried for help again.

"Help! Please help!" The terror in my voice was clear and I wondered why none of the neighbours could hear me, or maybe they did but they didn't want to face the beast I was doomed to.

I heard a cars tires at the end of the street screech.
I felt a warm prickle in my chest and a small hope burst within me. I didn't know where it was from but I welcomed it.

I rolled on to my back, groaning. Alistair looked at me and smirked.

"That was unnecessary dear, why don't we get going?" He reached for me and I kicked him in the stomach, and while it didn't look like it did much it it gave me a few second to try scramble to my feet.

Alistair's foot came down hard on my stomach before I could stand and I spluttered out blood from my mouth. Curling up in a ball I tried to keep still to calm the ache.

"That was naughty. But I forgive you sweet treasure. He will be most pleased with ne when I bring you into the game." What game? He reached again, taking my arm in his and yanking me off the ground. I felt something warm at the back of my head, I think my stitches had ript.

"Such a mess, this could have been so easy." He held my back against his chest and ran a finger along my check going down to my breast. I whimpered and closed my eyes. At the sound of this Alistair whipped me around to face him and caressed my face.

"Shh its okay don't cry, I won't hurt you." Only he already had. He pressed a piece of my skin above my color bone and I weakened, taking this as his chance he held his hand over my face. Almost as if he compelled me to do so: I slumped in his arms with no energy left in me to fight back. I was numb. Under a spell that was forcing me into a sweet slumber

I crumpled in Alistair's arms and he held me up, all my adrenaline had gone and I was now feeling every piece of flesh that I had hit.

"That's it." He cooed still cupping my face. I shouldn't cry, not for him. He bundled me up in his arms and my head looped over his bicep not having the strength to hold itself up. I could faintly feel my ring on ny hand getting warm.
Of all things I thought of Hunter, and the strange pull we had shared last night in the Toronto club. It reminded me of what I felt right now, that tug at my heart.

In the distance I heard a car come to a screeching hault and a door open and slam closed. The tug got stronger.

"Alistair! Leave. Her. Alone." It was him, he was the tug, the pull and the hope that had swam in my heart just moments ago. Hunter was here, and I was never more grateful for anything in my life.

"Hunter Jacobs, just the person I needed her for, looks like she drew you I too soon I don't have my soilders here." I couldn't see Alistair's face but I knew he was wearing that sadistic smile.

"Just put her down and we can habdle this ourselves." His voice held authority and demand.
I couldn't lift my head from where it lulled off Alistair's arm nor open my eyes, but I could feel Hunters gaze on me.

"She's the last part of my plan, the piece I need you won't support my side any other way-"

"She's not going anywhere." Hunter growled it out sounding like a ravenous beast.

"You want her? Come get her." Alistair's voice had darkened, much like Hunters. I was afraid of what that meant.

The sound of a wind turbine came from where Hunter's voice was earlier. Alistair tossed me to the side, the pain snapped me out of my haze and I was able to open my eyes. The devil like creature that Alistair had become would give me nightmares if I lived today.
