Chapter 7

Alistair's was no longer standing in front of me, in his place was a large wolf. The prospect of this situation actually happening was impossible, yet here I lay, witnessing it first hand.

Alistair's face snapped at the air with drool dripping from it's mouth,  he was absolutely repulsive with a dirty black coloured fur and dark eyes.

I looked to Hunter, terrified for him only to see a similar animal to Alistair. With brown and red fur, Hunter stood stall and barred his teeth to the creature before him.

My heart swelled at the sight of Hunter and I willed him not to fight, afraid he would get hurt.

"Don't freak out, don't freak out."
I repeated the words over and over in my head to try keep up with the events unfolding before me.

Hunter charged forward and Alistair followed suit, a loud cracking was heard as they both collided in front of me. The large force I had felt earlier from Alistair was fading but I was starting to get tired and my eyes were starting to droop.

Alistair looked vicious as he snapped at Hunter but he also looked...hesitate? All while Hunter was staying in an attacking stance, his form strong and powerful, fierceness radiating off of him. He looked like the stronger of the two, more experienced.

When I looked closely again Hunter and caught Alistair's neck in his mouth and bit down. Alistair cried out and whined for mercy. He had been beaten.

With that Hunter stood away from him and Alistair slowly made his way to his feet again, turning away and breaking into a run for the forest.

I was just holding on to consciousness as I saw Hunter walking towards me again in human form with some shorts on.

"Atarah or you okay did he hurt you like this?" The anger in his voice was clear and I shook in fear remembering the beast he was just moments ago.

"I-I jumped out the window, he was chasing me." My voice shook and my eyes were still heavy.

"Shh its okay your safe with me now." He looked over my body, looking for any serious injuries. Once Hunter was satisfied he held my hand, looking at the ring it still held.
"We have a lot to talk about. I'm going to move you okay?" I nodded to answer both.

His strong arms scooped me up effortlessly and held me to his chest, an arm under the back of knees and one behind my head.

"How is this possible I-I-" I held onto him as best as I could wgile he interrupted me.

"I'll explain everything when we get back to my house, I shouldn't have left yiu alone in the first place." I only just caught the last part as he mumbled it under his breath.

"Thank you." I whispered out.

"What for?"

"For everything Hunter,  last night, saving me now, I-I, I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't come." I cringe at the thought.

"You shouldn't be thanking me, I'm the reason your now in this mess."
