Harry sprinted though the castle, before skidding to a halt in front of the potions classroom. He sighed, trying to catch his breath. He'd slept in – Ron hadn't bothered to wake him- and he didn't have time for breakfast. "Where were you, mate?" Ron laughed as he asked the question. Harry simply replied with a glare. The door opened and the Slytherins and Gryffindors rushed inot the room, sitting down and staring expectantly at the potions professor. As always, Snape (Professor Snape, Harry!) sent harry an icy cold glare before beginning the lesson. Harry was very glad it was the last week of school before the summer holidays. No more classes, no more schoolwork and most importantly, no more Snape!

"Today, we will be brewing the Familia Arbore potion. It reveals your family tree. One drop on a piece of parchment will reveal the past two generations of your family. The instructions are on page forty-nine of your textbooks. You may begin." Snape drawled.

Harry skimmed the instructions on the page, grabbed the ingredients and began brewing. Twenty minutes later, Harry was almost finished.

Add the dittany, bat spleen, wormwood and stir clockwise four times, until potion is violet in colour. Remove cauldron from fire.

"Now, when your potion is... somewhat violet," Snape began, sneering at Neville's green potion, "You may add three drops of your own blood. The potion should turn navy. Then you many drop it onto the parchment. The potion will take three hours to completely reveal the family tree."

Harry glanced at his potion, it was more or less violet. He pricked his finger, watching the three drops fall into the cauldron and watched the potion turn navy. He lifted out a piece of parchment and dropped the concoction onto the sheet. He watched as the potion began writing faintly. In a few hours he would be able to see his family tree. It didn't really matter, Harry already knew who his parents were, but he still thought the potion was pretty cool.

He filled a vial with the potion and placed it on Snape's desk, packed up his things and moved on to Transfiguration, Hermione and Ron by his side.

"Harry, mate, come on! We'll miss dinner at this rate."

Ron stood impatiently at the door as Harry walked towards him. He chuckled, shaking his head at his hungry friend, and they walked to the Great Hall to meet Hermione. As they sat down beside their bushy haired friend, they watched the other students slowly begin filling up the seats. Ron, of course, immediately started eating and talking at the same time. "Honestly, Ronald! Don't you have any manners?" Hermione frowned as she scolded him. Ron simply shrugged and grabbed another sandwich. Hermione rolled her eyes. "Well, I don't have a bottomless pit for a stomach, so I'm going to the library until dinner is over. I suppose I'll see you two in Charms, then?"

Harry was rummaging through his trunk when Hermione came over, standing in the doorway. "What are you looking for, Harry?" He asked, eyeing the mound of scrunched up parchment, broken quills and old school books beside him. "Marauder's map." Harry replied, as Hermione strolled into the dorm. She opened her mouth, probably to comment on the state of Harry's trunk, but then decided against it. "Boys," she said, rolling her eyes.

Harry turned back to the trunk, grinning as he lifted out a few bits of parchment. "Let's see, herbology essay, hogsmead letter, ah! Marauder's map!" He shoved the rest of the parchment and his other things back into the trunk. Hermione frowned, lifting up a piece of parchment that Harry had forgotton about. "Oh! This is that family tree from potions! I forgot about that!"

Hermione read over Harry's, frowning slightly. "Oh dear, Harry, your's is horribly messed up! Are you sure you got an A on the potion? Because this is definitely not your family tree!"
