minute hand

13 0 0

as the tide water ebbs

to the edge of the sea

the sand soaks some of the water in,
taking time

yet no minutes on the clock.

to express love and warmth

the things most important

suffocating us with chloroform

never seeing what is true

due to what they've done to you.

knocked you out when all you knew

was the dearest secrets that you kept
the bottles with notes

all rolled up inside

floated out to sea

matching up with this tide.

the tide of time

it passes so quick.

and you sit on your boat

staring at the watch 'round her wrist,

the arms rotating

spinning

intoxicating.

intoxicating your brain, filling your needs

for new information

is just what you need.

so you watch her smile

joy fills your chest

while the other one laughs

and lets your heart sink

your heart takes  trip to the bottom of the ocean

an eternity to be spent

but not all the time,

it's hard to tell

if it is a fake smile they sell.
