Though guilt reaches through my mind and spears my heart faster than I can react, I stand taller than I thought I ever could. I hold my head above the rest, though my confidence is faltering. Though many chase me, I continue holding my stature until I am released. He waits for me to fall first, but I refuse to collapse. He waits inches from me, testing my strength, torturing me with anticipation. I am scared. But I am not weak. I will wait.
