Zach and Wes' chapter

Zach's point of view:

I hated knowing I was about to ask Wes. Everything about him screams 'caution, fragile'. However that doesn't stop me from letting the words "we're using you for bait," spill out of my mouth.

"W-what?" Wes crinkles his forehead and frowns a little.

Damn, this was the first time I've actually talked to him and I say that. He must think I'm an asshole.

"We need your help, is what Zach is trying to say." Caleb cuts in. I send him an half thankful, half annoyed glance.

"With?" Wes' lip trembles nervously and I can't help but to think of all the ways I could get that lip to tremble.

Shit.

"We're trying to get Rick in trouble so he'll stop messing with us." I tell him, blushing slightly. This is not how I wanted our first conversation to go.

"And you want me to g-get his attention?"

I nod slowly. "He really doesn't like you..."

"I know." He mutters softly.

"So will you do it?" I ask, nervously licking my lips.

"I, uh, I guess it couldn't hurt." Wes mumbles softly, his blush growing with each word.

"Great, thanks a lot!" I say much to excitedly. He probably thinks I want him to get hurt or something....

"N-no problem."

"Hey, I'm going to see Reed," Caleb tells us. Just as he's about to leave he adds, "Have fun you two!"

I stand awkwardly across from Wes, not knowing what to say. I wish I wasn't so shy.

"You can leave too if you want." Wes avoids looking at me as he says this. God he must hate my guts or something.

I frown a little and tuck both hands inside my pockets. "I guess I will-"

"But if you want, you can stay." I'm surprised at how loud Wes' voice got. I've never heard him speak louder than a whisper.

"Do you want me to leave?" I ask, pushing my luck just a bit.

Don't freak him out Zach...that's the last thing you need to do.

"Not r-really...but I do need to take a shower." Wes' cheeks are almost as red as a strawberry.

"Oh, we'll I mean I can come back..."

Wes looks down at his socked feet and whispers, "I can't shower without someone else in the room."

A million thoughts race my head as to why he'd need someone in the same room as him. For someone so shy, I'd think he'd want that time all alone. There has to be more to this.

"So you want me to stay in there with you?"

He nods. "I-I'd ask Aiden but he's out with M-Miles."

"And you trust me enough? You hardly know me." So now I'm questioning him. He's going to let me be five feet away from him while he showers....I shouldn't be questioning him at all!

"There's just something a-about you."

I stiffen up a bit. "What about me?"

"I feel...s-safe around you."
