I'm on my way to school. I saw girls running towards the gate as if they were exited to see a concert. I stopped walking and noticed the car that pulled up near the schools gate. Amd this car was no other than Atobe's car, the rich kid who is the captain of Hyotei tennis team.
"Sakuno!" I heard Tomo called out. I turned around and saw her running towards me.
"Tomo" I looked at her. She grabbed my hand and took me along with her. We both ran in to school and ended up in the tennis court.
"It's Hyotei. I can't believe that they are actually here!" Tomo pointed at the two tennis teams. The other Hyotei and the other Seigaku.
"What are they doing here?" I asked.
"Here to have a match. We have to support them. I will skip my classes just to support Seigaku and Ryoma-sama" Tomo said with motivation.
"I guess I'll stay too" I said.
I looked at the team, it seems that there is one member missing. "Fuji, Eiji, Oishi, Inui, Ryoma, Kaido, Taka-san, Momo" Tezuka seems to be missing. "I have to go, I'll be back Mono" I said as I ran towards the Seigaku tennis team locker room.
I knocked on the door, "Tezuka-sempai" I opened the door and found him in the process of wearing his shirt.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Hyotei is here. I counted the members and noticed you weren't there" I said as I closed the door behind me.
"I know. They are here for a match. Tell the others to prepare" Tezuka picked up some papers from his locker and sat on the table.
"I'll tell the coach too. I'll see you later Sempai. Good luck" I bowed and left the room.
I went to my grandmothers office and told her that Hyotei is here. She went to the courts with me and gathered the team.
"We didn't know Hyotei is here for a match" Eiji said.
"Well, it seems that they are being ready for something like the finals this year" coach Ryozaku said.
"Also the tournament this year. It's right after the finals" Inui Sempai said. "We can't show them how much we have improved. As much as possible, don't show them any of your new skills" Inui said.
"Tezuka-sempai told me to tell you guys to prepare. What ever this is, I think it won't be good. But we all wish you guys good luck" I said with a reassuring smile so they won't feel uneasy during the match.
I left the courts, I stayed with Tomo out side the courts. There, we can see the match and cheer at the same time. Coach Ryozaku talked with the team, when Tezuka came in coach left and went back to the building.
"Sakuno, are you okay?" Tomo asked me as she placed a hand on my shoulder.
"Yes, I'm fine. I just hope this match won't be the same as last time" I said. I remembered when Tezuka played with Atobe, Tezuka almost lost and his arm got hurt even more. I wasn't of much help that time, but at least I was able to take care of him with Oishi sempai's help.
While they were doing their practice match in the other courts, Tomo and I cheered while Ryoma is having his practice match. After the practice matches, they had a little break. I walked over to them hoping to lighten up their spirits.
"Did you guys know about this?" I asked.
"No, we didn't. They only arrived early this morning and talked with coach Ryozaku. This is all too sudden" Eiji said.
"Well, it is. But I do know that you guys are going to do great out there. I wish all the luck guys" I smiled.
"That's what we're going to need. Thank you, Sakuno-chan" Oishi placed a hand on my head and ruffled my hair.
"Well, I have to go now. I'll be watching you guys play. Bye" I waved goodbye and joined Tomo and the others.
