First day of school, Tomo was exited to see her favorite boys tennis team. All the way from her house, she kept on talking about how awesome Seigaku Tennis team was during the tennis summer competition. All I can do was smile and laugh while she did all the talking.
On the way, I bumped in to a student. He was a bit taller than us and had that "I don't care" look on his face. He had some sort of cat eye style.
"Sumimasen" I said.
He didn't give a reply but just turned and walk towards school. When he turned, that's where I realized that ha was bringing a tennis bag.
"Who was that?" Tomo asked.
"I don't know" I said.
Tomo and I continued walking and when we got to school, I went to my grandmas office. As I standing outside her door, I knocked before entering.
"Shitsureishimasu" I said as I opened the door.
"Sakuno, what brings you here?" My grandma asked.
"You told me to come here yesterday" I said Confused.
"Oh, I almost forgot about that" she said.
"Eh~" I looked at her and tilted my head with disapointment.
"Anyway" she walked to her drawers and pulled out a drawer and took a forlder "I need you to go with the boys to a camp. It's not far from here, but I hope it's okay with you. Since I can not go, I placed your name on the paper as a replacement for me. I told your parents, they said yes" she said.
"Eh? Why me?" I asked.
"Because I just chose yoy. I can't choose anyone who they boys are not comfortable being with. Since they know and you know them, I chose you and I know you are going to watch over them amd them over you very well" she said getting a paice of paper from the folder.
"You didn't even ask me if it's okay" I said to her.
"It's okay. Anyway, change in to your tennis atire and go to the courts. Observe them very well. You can play as well" she said.
"Hai" I bowed then left. I went to the girls locker room and changed in to my tennis atire.
I went to the tennis courts and saw the girls fangirling at the Seigaku regular members. I went in the court and looked for Tezuka sempai.
"Sakuno chaaan~" I heard Eiji sempais voice from a far.
I turned my head to the right and saw him waving his hands in the air. I walked to them and asked where Tezuka sempai was.
"Eh? We haven't seen him yet. But we're sure he'll be here soon" Oishi sempai said.
"Souka?" I said disapointed.
"Is there anything that you need from him?" Oishi asked.
"Oh nothing. It's just about the camp" I said.
"Oh, you're going with us there, right?" Momo sempai asked.
"Yes, I am. As a substitute for my grandma" I said.
"Haha. I see. Yoroshiku ne" Momo sempai said.
"Un. Kochirakoso" I bowed a little.
"Well then, let's play ball" Eiji said hugging Oishi on the neck with a ball in his other hand.
I sat on the bench as I watched the regulars play. After a few moments. I heard the girls wispering behind about some new student. I turned to the gate and saw the boy from earlier. He was looking around like he was looking for someone.
"What is he doing here?" I asked myself.
He saw me looking at him. I turned my head and felt my face turned a little red. Later on, he stood beside me and looked at me.
"Sumimasen, is the captain here?" He asked me.
"Eh- Ah-. He is not here yet. But the vice captain is here" I said.
"I see. Do you know where the sensei is gor this club?" He asked.
"Yes, go through that door and turn left. Second room on the right side of the hallway" I said.
"Ah, soudesuka. Arogatou" he said then walked away. I watched him as he vanished in to the building. I turned back to watch the team. But, when I turned to watch them, they were all seatted on the ground and talking and drinking water.
A few minutes later, Tezukas arrived and we all formed a line. He was going to announce something about the camp two weeks from now.
