Miles Away

New Neighbors...

   I woke up in my room with the afternoon light shining through the blinds. I rub my eyes to rub off my sleep and stretch. I then get out of my bed, take a shower then brush my teeth. As soon as I walked out of the bathroom my mom screams my name, and I automatically groan.

"Yes, mom?!" I call back, 

"Come downstairs, now!'' She basically screamed. Uh-oh.

   I ran down the stairs from the hallway and went right into the kitchen where my mom was standing by the island. She was dressed really nicely, a pencil skirt and a blouse, where was she going?

   "Hi..." I said quietly and awkwardly, "where are you going?"

   "Hello, Missy," she said ignoring my question, "I need you to help me clean the house."

   "OK, but why are you dressed like you're about to see the King?" I asked, knowing I was over exaggerating .

She giggled before saying, " I'm not going anywhere, people are coming over here in an hour. Our new neighbors, I invited them over for lunch."

   LUNCH?!?! How long was I asleep?! Then, as if a a brick smacked me in the head, I remembered all the things that happened last night with Collin. I ran upstairs yelling, "I'll be down in a minute to help you!!". Running in my room I grabbed my laptop from the old worn out desk, and sat on my bed. Opening it up, I saw the background of me and my dog that had died two years ago... I went onto JinksLinks, and saw that I had many messages from Collin, I smiled to myself when I saw that he was online as well. I read all the messages he sent me; 

  I'll be on tomorrow, not just because you told me to be, but because I wanna talk to you. 

  Hey, message me tomorrow, too!

  Are you awake!?! 

WAKE UUPP! 

OK, I give up...

   I laughed out loud at his frustration, I clicked on the message box and was about to send him a message when he beat me to it;

  You're online. Finally. 

  Yeah, I was just about to message you :) You really blew up my message box last night, missed me that much? 

Seriously, I had no clue what is coming over me, I don't like it...

  Haha, yeah sooo much :p

   I was interrupted by my mom calling me again and I remembered that I was supposed to help her out. 

   "coming!" I yelled back, before I told Collin I had to go. 

  Come back soon! 

He said, I blushed at how much this kid really wants to talk to me, I felt pretty special. 

   I left my laptop open, deciding that I was going to message him the next time I can. I walked downstairs, still in my pajamas, and see that it was too late to help mom clean now as the neighbors were sitting down in the living room. There was an older guy who was around my mom's age, 30-ish, and same thing with the older lady. There were two boys sitting, looking bored on the couch, one was around my age, and the other was looking to be four or five. 

   Seeing as they were all dressed up and nice looking, I looked down at my clothes in embarrassment, I was wearing fuzzy green pajama pants and an over sized t-shirt. My faced turned red, burning in humiliation looking up I saw all of them looking at me in shock. The teen was holding in his laughter as was the little one next to him. 

  "Be right Back.." I said awkwardly, and ran back upstairs into my room. Fifteen minutes later I had a nice plaid preppy dress on, and my hair was loose in its natural curls. Thank God I shaved my legs yesterday, I thought to myself as I walked down the stairs. I saw everyone already at the dinner table when I walked downstairs, I casually sat at the only empty space next to boy who looked to be my age before I mumbled an apology, in front of me was a plate of amazing looking food. 

  "hey," the boy turned to me smirking, oh gosh please don't be a jerk, "you look hot in that dress." He winked at me - WAIT WINKED?! I stared at him in shock. Just as I was about to put the sandwich in front of me in my mouth, a high pitched voice said, 

  "Logan!" She said behind her teeth, "what?" he mouthed back. 

This was going to be fun...
