Sabrina's POV
"Sabby, GET UP!" Rae shook my scrawny shoulder, quite roughly, might I add, trying to pull me out of my dreamy state. I shrugged her off and turned over, not bothering to open my eyes.
This, like most of my other plans, wasn't successful, as Ash was on the other side of my bed. I knew I should've cornered it.
"Sabrina! If you don't get up in the next thirty seconds, I am going to chop off your hair!" I ignored her, thinking she was all bark and no bite.
"Okay, Rae, get the scissors." Ash said when I pulled my pillow over my head. I rolled my eyes and pushed myself up, not willing to even gamble on my sacred blonde locks.
"It's a Saturday, why must you wake me up? I need my hours of beauty sleep!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands in the air and shooting a meanigful glance at both of them.
"It's your turn to do the shopping. We have nothing to eat!" Rae exclaimed. This all was true, but it didn't change the fact that I had been up very late the night before, watching infomercials and painting my nails. I mulled it over for a moment.
"Fine, let me get ready." I said as threw y duvet off my legs. I hopped off the bed and I stalked off to take a shower. Once I got out I blow dried my hair and threw it into a ponytail. I walked to to my closet to find something to wear. I threw on a light blue skirt and a black tank with lace on the top.A bit much for grocery shopping, I know, but my mom always taught me that if I ever wanted to find a suitable man, I had to look somewhere in between a homeless person and a street walker at all times. Her words, not mine.
As I finally dragged myself out the door, not fully awake, Rae handed me the list while chomping on a saltine cracker. Huh, I really did need to go shopping.
Thankfully, it was a light week, with only essential things like poptarts on the list. Three girls usually means a lot of groceries. I headed to the elevator and pressed L. The door man said hello as usual as I exited the building. I stepped out on to the busy street of fifth avenue. Our apartment building was slightly extravagant, but since my father felt guilty for never seeing me as a child because he was working, he was more than willing to drop a few k's a month for me and my best friends to live in style. It was a pretty sweet setup.
"Taxi!" I yelled. None stopped. I pulled my fingers up to my lips and one stopped right away, just like in the movies. Just kidding. I was practically run over trying to dart across traffic to get a cab, but soon I was on my way. The cabby brought me to the Trader Joe's that was just a couple blocks away from where I lived. I quickly handed him some cash and walked into the store. I was really hoping that I wouldn't run into anyone I know. I wanted to get home and back to sleep. This was my only day off of work. I worked as an intern at The New York Times and it was brutal as hell.
I shopped quickly and efficiently, and soon the only item on the list was cookies. I skipped down the aisle and grabbed a box of Oreos from the shelf for Rae and Ash. I didn't care much for cookies, but the Chips Ahoy box next to the Oreos looked too tempting to refuse. I quickly tossed it in my cart, hoping my speed would ebb away guilt. I made my way to the front of the store and paid. The ride home was uneventful, other than a run in with a bitchy bike messenger who almost killed me.
When I got home, I put all the food away before finding a note on the counter from Rae.
Ash and I went out for lunch because you took too long. Sorry, but we were hungry! We will be back by one.

Those bitches! Ah, well, I looked at the clock and saw that it was noon. I had some time alone. I quickly changed into a big tee shirt and some shorts and white socks. I put some tunes on and danced around, like the guy from the movie Big did. Just kidding, I was an adult. I sat my lazy ass down on the couch and started watching an episode of Friends. After a while, my tummy grumbled, so I got my cookies. Before I opened them, I noticed they had a picture of One Direction on the side. I loved me some British boys, so I obviously had to take a closer look.
Find a code inside to enter for the contest One Direction announced on their interview on Ellen.
Hmm, I didn't know they had an interview on Ellen. I went back to the living room and grabbed Rae's laptop, looking up "One Direction on Ellen" on YouTube and clicking on the clip.
"Holy fuck." I said as I finished reading. Obviously, I was gonna enter. I ripped open the box. Cookies went flying everywhere, and I do mean everywhere, but I just didn't care! I found the code and texted it to the number they gave.
Thanks for entering! We need you to fill out this form!

I quickly filled it out and hit "Send". I checked the date, April 8th. Only twenty days until I find out. I would just die if they chose me.
"Sabrina! We're home!" Ash called. I quickly cleaned up any evidence of the cookies before they reached me. I didn't need to give my roommates confirmation on what they already knew: that I was a certified nutjob.
A/N I thought I would post. I really like this story, and I hope you do, too!
