Sabrina's POV
I ran down the empty alleyway, hoping my pursuer would have lost me in the dark. All hope was gone, replaced by dread, when I heard footsteps behind me. My lungs aching, my feet seering with pain, I pushed forward and ran on. I was almost out of the alleyway when my foot caught on a garbage bag. I fell down. I looked behind me, to see his feet stopping in front of me.
My breath caught in my throat, when I saw what he was holding in his hand. A butcher's knife.
"Any last words?" he asked. My voice began to speak, without me consenting.
"Sabrina! Wake up!" I said, I was confused. That wasn't my voice. I snapped awake. I saw Emma looming over me. I realized I was sweating. It was dark, but I could tell Emma looked afraid, too.
"Bad dream?" she asked. I nodded.
"Me, too. I knew we shouldn't have gone to that movie. Horror movies always give me nightmares." she said.
"Yeah. Me and horror movies just don't mix well." I said, finally finding my voice.
"Do you want to sleep on the couches upstairs? I mean, we'd be closer together, and if the killer tried to get us, he would have to kill all of the boys and the other three girls first." she said and I nodded.
"Hey, I heard that!" a voice said. It was Aleeah's.
"I couldn't sleep either. Can I go up there with you guys?" she asked, and we nodded. As we went towards the stairs, we heard sniffling.
"Alissa, is that you?" Emma whispered.
"Oh, what? Yeah, that was me." she said. Her voice sounded thick, as if she had been crying.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing, just stuff with my brother." she said.
"Well, if you want, you can go upstairs with us." Aleeah offered. I heard Alissa getting up, so I guess her answer was yes. We began to climb up the stairs, when Emma stopped.
"What now?" I asked, slightly exasperated.
"I don't want Larissa to feel left out." she said.
"Okay, but I'm not waking her up!" I said as I began to run up the stairs. Aleeah and Alissa were following close behind. Larissa's not very fun to wake up. That is all I'm going to say.
"Guys!" Emma called, but we were already in the living room. I turned to Aleeah and Alissa.
"In 5, 4, 3, 2, 1." We all said. Just as we said it, I heard Larissa's voice floating up the stairs.
"Emma, if you don't let me sleep, I will strangle you with your own hair." Larissa said. A couple of minutes later, they were both in the living room. Emma looked very pale. I turned on the lamp, just to make sure that the killer wasn't laying on the couch or anything. I looked around. All clear.
"I'm hungry!" I whined. Every single one of them pointed to the kitchen. I was going to ask them if they would make me food. I walked over to the kitchen, and made myself a peanut butter and honey sand which.
"Let's turn on the TV!" Emma suggested. Alissa turned the TV on. A commercial for the movie we had watched came on, and I clung on to Larissa, but jumped off when I saw the look on her face. Finally, Aleeah turned it off.
"I have an idea! Lets go to sleep." Larissa said. I evaluated the room. One long L-shaped couch and two loves seats. I think I'll go for a love seat. Just as I though that, Alissa laid down in one, Larissa in the other. I plopped down on the couch. Larissa turned the light off. I tried to go to sleep, but having three girls, even on a relatively large couch, was very uncomfortable. Emma kicks in her sleep, and Aleeah is a total cover hog. As Emma landed another kick on my shin, I decided to kick her back.
