I stumble through the woodland area. I was broken, beaten, and almost dead. Right now, it was just a matter of time before I starved to death. I looked up to the sky.
"What happened?" I ask. I wasn't sure if I was asking God, the dead, myself, or the mindless creatures that walked the Earth.
I heard a gunshot, it was close. I could tell by the way it made my ears ring. Someone was here, I pulled out my knife.
"Come out! Show me who you are!" I yell, scanning the trees. Just then I dropped to the ground, underneath a person. I looked up to see the person that had tackled me. A boy. Looking around fifteen.
"I got her!" He yelled, I saw others emerge from behind trees and bushes. The boy on top of me pulled me up with him. He took my knife out of my grasp and pinned my arms behind my back. He's strong, he must have a camp. Or somewhere safer than out here.
"Where are you taking me?" I ask as he began dragging me along.
"It's not where, you should be asking. It's who." He says. I don't bother asking. Three other boys caught up and we begin walking to god knows where.

2 hours later
I woke up and tried to move my arms. I realize I was tied up and gagged. The memories came flooding in.
Of when I was tackled, taken, knocked out, and now here. In a room that appeared to be an office.
I couldn't move at all. So in hopes to get someone's attention, I banged the chains that tied my hands together on the back of the chair.
I heard the door open behind me. A boy walked in, he looked normal. But by the way he sat behind the desk in front of me, gave me a feeling that he wasn't.
"I apologize if the boys scared you, that wasn't the intention. I heard that you tried to get away from them. So they had to stop you, by hitting you in the head. Before I untie you I'm going to tell you a few things and then you may ask questions. Got it?" The boy with blue eyes said. I nodded.
"We have a system here. There are three classes here. Runners, Deceptions , and Kills.
Runners are the lowest class. They just deliver the targets to us.
Deceptions are ones who are on mission trips, this can be toxic if gone wrong. Deceptions will come to the target's camp and get into the system, their way of life. This is typically a plan for revenge. We send a Deception in to get information so we know how to attack.
Kills are something completely different. These are murderers, killing machines. We give them a target, they get the job done. Simple." He says, untying the gag from my mouth.
"So...Runners got me?" I ask. He responds with a nod.
"Why am I here?" I ask. He leans on his desk.
"That's the funny thing...I sent my team to go and get you. It's up to me what you'll do here, but I'm not quite sure what that is yet." He says.
"Okay...whats your name?" I ask.
"Carl...Carl Grimes. What's yours?" He asks.
"Willow." I say flatly. Carl raises an eyebrow.
"What's your last name?" He asks.
"I don't know. I can't remember." I say looking to the floor.
"Oh...well then you'll use mine. Willow Grimes. That's what you say when people ask. Now any other questions?" Carl asks.
"Just one." I say, looking up at him.
He does a hand motion signaling for me to get on with it.
"Why do you speak like that?" I ask.
"Like what?" He asks.
"Like you're proper. As if you're an adult when you don't look older than 16." I say probably over stepping my bounds.
"Well... I'm in charge, this is how you speak when you're the leader." Carl says.
"Um...if you didn't realize. The world kinda ended. You can talk the way you want." I say. I stand from the chair.
"Don't question it. Just go." He said. I walked out the door and into the street.
I saw a boy from the group that took me. I walked up to him.
"Hi I'm Willow and I have no clue where I'm going so could you help me out?" I ask.
"Well...I'm Daniel...Daniel Fox. Grimes didn't tell you where to go?" Daniel asked me. I shook my head.
"Okay, you should probably go ask Enid or Ron." He said.
"Who are they?" I ask.
"Oh you know how Carl is the head of the Runners team? Ron is head of the Deceptions and Enid is head of the Kills." He said.
"Can I ask you something...Daniel?" I ask. He nods his head.
"Are the Deceptions and Kills considered better than us?"

Carl's pov
Daniel came through the door, looking a little confused.
I sigh "What Fox?"
"Well you know the new girl, Willow? She said she doesn't know where to go, sir. And I was going to take her to see Enid and Ron to ask." He stuttered.
"Are you crazy?!" I shout without meaning to.
"I'm sorry sir, we haven't gone yet. Would you like me to send her in?" Daniel said.
"Just take her to the house and she can live with us for the moment." I say, rubbing my eyes.
It's stressful being the head of the Runners. My schedule is crazy, I never get a break.
Monday- Training the boys for runs this week. 1pm-7pm.
Tuesday- Meetings with Ron and Enid. All day.
Wednesday- Checking on all the new people. Getting them settled in.
Thursday- Same as Monday.
Friday- Training all the boys individually.
Right now it's Saturday.
Saturday is my day for appointments in my office. Or where the Runners can come visit me if they need anything.
Sunday I get completely off.
