Willow's pov
After all the boys had gone outside Carl slammed his fist down on the table.
"What the hell is your problem?" Carl says through gritted teeth. I gulp and shrug.
"You're all treating this as if it's some big game." I say, not looking into his eyes.
"This is life now. Life is a god damned game. You should really start seeing things as they are." He whispers in my ear from behind me. I grab the underneath of the chair I was sitting on.
"That's the thing...if life is a game. It seems that none of you are here to play." I say turning my head to get a side glance at him. A smirk plasters itself on his face.
"You think you're tough don't you?" He asks, moving across the room. I look down.
"No. I don't. I'm not."
The smirk fades from his face. His arms cross over his chest as he leans against the counter across from me.
"You are actually. That's why you're on this team. This society was built to make us stronger, you'll need to learn to appreciate it." Carl spoke at me. I nod.
"It's easy to appreciate it, being you. You have all these people on your side. I've barely been here but I heard the way people spoke about you at the club. You're the Carl Grimes that everyone wants to get with or be. You have all these friends." I say.
"You want to have that? You want to be popular?" He asks me.
I look up at him and think. Popular?
I eventually nod my head. Carl puts his head down and chuckled slightly.
"Okay...just when I thought someone like you wouldn't be worried about that." He says with a slight eye roll. I gulp and nod.
"Okay Grimes, get outside. Stretch with the boys." Carl says nodding his head toward the back door.
I quickly leave the room. I have a feeling that I sidetracked him from what he was actually going to talk to me about.
I walked out the back doors and all attention turned to me. I could tell they were talking about me before I walked out.
"So what's your punishment?" Fox asked.
"What punishment?" I say in confusion. Before anyone could answer, Carl walked out.
"Everyone ready?"
We all nodded and Carl said walker training was first. Carl handed everyone shotguns. We all walked down the large backyard, over the hill. Then I saw something I wish I hadn't.
Chained up walkers. Tied to trees.
The boys got in a line, probably to take turns killing them. I got at the back.
"Hall. Please show me how you would kill one of these walkers without a weapon." Carl said, taking out a cigarette and lighting it. Hall tucked his gun into his back pocket and walked up to the closest walker. He slowly lifted his leg off the ground before quickly swinging it into the walker's hip. The walker fell to the ground and Hall stepped on it's skull with his boot.
"That was perfect...besides the fact that you'd be dead right now if that walker wasn't chained up." Carl said.
"What?" Hall asked with squinted eyes. Carl shrugged.
"You hesitated. That would have given the walker a chance to get closer to you, then by the time you would have kicked. It would have been too close, you would have missed, you'd be bit, then you would have to be killed."
Hall walked to the back, behind me. He seemed a little mad by the way he crossed his arms. Carl got through the line and it was eventually my turn.
There were three walkers left.
"Willow...Show me what you would do to one of these walkers with your gun." Carl said.
"No." I say.
"No?"
"Let them all loose." I say. I felt everyone staring at me. Carl just shrugged and nodded, going around the back to let the three walkers come at me.
The closest walker stumbled towards me the quickest. I pushed it back into the tree. I grabbed its old hair and slammed its head into the tree bark, making blood, brains, and guts go all over my hand but killing the walker. I heard growling behind me, right behind me. I flipped around, connecting my elbow into the walkers cheekbone. The head completely detached. Leaving a snapping walker head on the ground. I stomped it and heard a gunshot and a body fall on top of me.
The third walker.
I shoved it off and saw Carl putting his gun away.
"It's teeth were about three inches away from your shoulder. You'd be dead." He said. I blinked and stared for a moment but nodded eventually. Carl looked at me.
"You're not a good shot are you?" He asked me. I looked down.
"No. I-I'm not." I said shakily. Carl nods and them tells the rest of the boys to go inside, they all give me fearful glances but do as they're told. I grab Kellin's (Jones's) arm before he can get inside.
"What's going to happen?" I ask.
"Punishment time princess." He says before walking away as well. I turn back to Carl who has a smirk on his face. I give him a small smile and fold my hands in front of me.
"I'm going to teach you how to shoot." Carl says walking next to me. He takes my gun out of my back pocket and shoves it into my hands.
"Shoot the tree." Carl says tilting his head back. I lift the gun back and aim it at the tree. I pull the trigger. The bullet flies past the oak. Nog even skinning it.
Carl grabs my right side and my left arm, aiming the gun for me. He puts both arms around me and has both hands on the gun.
"You press the trigger, don't pull it. I also saw you close one of your eyes, don't. It doesn't help." Carl whispers, his hot breath fanning my ear. It makes me shiver.
I feel one of his hands slide into my back pocket.
"Show me what you've got." Carl whispered. I nod and shoot my gun at the tree, barely skinning it.
"Stop bending your wrists." Carl says. "Now shoot."
I put my finger on the trigger and feel his teeth nibbling at my neck. I let my head fall back into his shoulder and shoot the gun sloppily. Carl removed his hand from my back pocket and slid the fingertips of his hands into the top of my jeans.
I could already feel my breathing getting heavier. I drop the gun and turn around, kissing him harshly. Carl grabbed one of my thighs and lifted it to his waist. He sucked on my neck, making me moan out.
I began to unbutton his shirt but then he dropped my leg and began walking away.
"Where are you going?" I asked. He just replied with a shrug.
"I have to get lunch ready."
"Wait...is this a thing now? Me and you?" I ask. Carl bit his lip and shook his head.
"Not officially anyway."
And with that he walked away, leaving me feeling pathetic.
