It all started the day I saw her at the park. She was sitting alone listening to music and staring down at the dew-covered grass. Something compelled me to go over and talk to her, but decided against it. The next day, she was still there. I decided to sit next to her and try to start a friendly conversation. "Hey," I spoke, somewhat softly. She obviously couldn't hear me. I spoke a little louder, "Hi there." She seemed to notice and looked over at me. Her bright green eyes shone brightly and her teeth sparkled as she gave me a small smile. Removing the pitch black hood from her head revealed the rest of her face including a thick mane of short brown hair. I smiled softly and worried to myself if I may have annoyed her. "I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to annoy you I just thought you looked kinda lonely-" She cut me off with a calm relaxing voice. "Relax, kid. It's not like I was doing anything important. And you're right, it can get a bit lonely out here." I softly sighed with relief knowing I didn't mess everything up right off the bat. "So what made you sit down next to me?" She asked, her voice smooth and rich. "I dunno. I guess I just kinda thought you seemed lonely I guess so I guess i just kinda wanted to-" I slightly gasped and flinched as she threw her arm across my shoulders as if we've been friends for years. "Don't sweat it, kid. I was just curious I didn't wanna know your life story." I smiled softly then immediately attached my eyes to the soft looking grass at my feet. "Hey, dude. You feeling okay?" She asked, observing my face at a bit closer range than I appreciate. "Y-yeah. I'm fine. Just a..uh..thinking." She chuckled softly. "About what?" The first thing that jumped to mind just so happened to be the first thing I blurted out of my mouth. "About how I think you look really cute." I immediately covered my mouth as my eyes grew wide. 'No no no no no. This can't be happening. I've ruined everything!' I thought to myself. She stared at me blankly then laughed a little bit. "Well, thanks for the compliment I guess." She gave me a pat on the back and a warm smile. Her bright emerald eyes still shined brightly and caught me in a slight trance. She raised one eyebrow as she continued to stare at me. I couldn't find the muscle inside me to look away. We stared at each other for what seemed like centuries until she broke the long gaze to look at her phone. "Dammit, gotta head home. Hey maybe we can talk more tomorrow. It was nice meeting ya." She stood up from the bench and I stood up as well, for absolutely no reason. "What? Are you expecting something from me?" I shook my head of thoughts and frantically responded. "N-no. I just kinda thought that maybe, i dunno, that maybe you wanna-i mean i dont know but-" As i stared at the ground stuttering I almost didn't notice the pair of lips that softly kissed me on the cheek. I glanced up at her, face bright red and eyes wide. She chuckled softly and spoke a bit softer. "See ya tomorrow, kid." With that she was gone. I would of course see her tomorrow, but what was that? Why did she do that? Was it true love? No no that's too extreme. Or is it?
