Luke Skywalker: Hoth

I hated Hoth. Sure it wasn't like Tatooine with the scorching sun, but this planet is making me rethink my opinions. There was barely a time when I wasn't freezing my tail off. Colds and sickness are very common too, as well as hypothermia.

Luke, being my best friend, always made regular well checks to see if I was alright. And I would do the same for him. We looked out for each other, and we've made it so far. He saved me from my horrible life I was forced to live and took me into a life of freedom and excitement and adventure.

And I've grown to love him for that.

Not being able to use the force hasn't left me with much to help with, as far as the combat goes. I'm more of a navigator, battle strategy, survival skills, and translator. I stay inside the base beside Leia and try to help that way as much as I can.

But as much as I want to, I can't help the cold.

Tonight, Luke is patrolling. And as always, I'm a nervous wreck for him. He might have the force, but that won't do him much good out there. It's freezing, there's almost always a blizzard going on, and the chances of surviving out there overnight are very slim.

Luke was getting his tauntaun ready when I walked up to him.

"Come to kiss me good luck?" Luke teased. I blushed slightly, but laughed to play it off casually.

"Don't let your delusions get to your head. You might be disappointed, young Jedi." I remarked.

"I'm not a Jedi yet, you know that."

I walked closer to him pulling him into an embrace. "Please try not to get killed."

"I'll do my best." I could practically hear the smirk in his voice.

I pulled back placing my hands on his shoulders firmly. I looked him dead in the eye. "I'm serious. Be careful. I don't want something bad to happen to you. I would never forgive myself."

Luke took my hands in his own. "Don't talk like that. I will be okay. Don't worry, I'll be back before you know it." He smiled at me, assuring that he would be true to his word. But I don't feel very assured. He pulled me into another embrace, placing a soft kiss in my hair. I'm glad he couldn't see my face at the moment because it was probably brighter than the sun. It would be every time.

He let go and swiftly mounted his tauntaun, and with one more smile, he was gone. I watched him until I couldn't anymore and retreated back to the warmer air. I made my way to the control rooms to assist Leia in the base operations. I just hope he's alright.

A while later, I went back to the main base entrance where Luke had left. He should be coming back soon, so I decided to wait for his return.

A few minutes passed. Maybe he just got sidetracked a little. A storm was picking up quickly.

"Hey," I asked one of the other pilots, "have you seen Luke? Heard from him at all?" The pilot shook his head.

"Sorry, y/n. Haven't heard from him."

"Okay. Thanks anyway." And I kept waiting.

Those few minutes turned into an hour. And still no Luke. Something just doesn't add up.

I made my way over to where Han and Chewy were working on the Falcon. Han was like my older brother. He made sure Luke didn't hurt me. "Han." I said. He looked up seeing my distress and immediately went into big brother mode.

"What's going on? What's wrong?" He asked.

"It's Luke. He should've returned hours ago. I'm scared. What if something happened to him?" I started panicking. I didn't know what to do.
