I rested my head on my fist, staring blankly at the teacher. Weird thoughts kept crossing my mind like where was the biggest pizza made from or what would a child of a hippopotamus and a tiger look like. Well... Safe to say I wasn't paying attention to whatever the French teacher was saying.
It's not like I had to anyways, I've went to France so many times I could enter a french debate competition.
"Kevin!! What did I say about doodling in my class!!"
Kevin stared back at her cluelessly. He was just about to write notes when the teacher was blindly accusing him of doodling.
Sky threatened him saying that if he doesn't at least get a pass in his next French test, she would give him the silent treatment till he turned twenty and only reply with one word texts.
Ouch, if I may say so myself.
So Kevin has been giving French class so much attention lately that he even asked me to tutor him once or twice.
"Madam, I was just taking down notes." He rebuked.
"Monsieur Kevin, how do you say sorry in French."
"That's easy. Désolé" Kevin answered confidently.
The French teacher rolled her eyes at him. "Now name me five things you use to bake a cake." She challenged him.
"Since when was I in cookery class?" Brooklyn suddenly woke up from his sleep.
"Silent Brooklyn. I'll deal with you later." Her piercing gaze fell back on Kevin.
"Erm urghhhhh... farine (flour), oeuf (eggs)... Erm chocolat? How the hell am I suppose to know what you put in a damn cake." Kevin rebuked.
"Very well then, sing the France national anthem." She ordered and everyone in the class laughed hysterically.
"You gotta be kidding me."
She forced a smile "do I look like I'm kidding."
"It's hard to tell with your unibrow staring at me." Kevin rebuked.
Oh snap!
"That's it. Go straight to detention!" She yelled furiously.
"Over-my-dead-body." He leaned back comfortably on his chair. "Sel, could you believe this teacher." He scoffed.
I nervously smiled as my gaze alternated between both of them.
But after processing the situation a little while I finally stood up. "Where's the detention hall. I'll sit in for Kevin."
The whole class gasped.
"Fine. If you're gonna be a hero, it's the last room to your right. I hope you're not going to save Kevin every time he makes a mistake, because if you do, that's gonna be your second home real soon." She warned me.
I nodded and just left.
Honestly I'm gonna leave this school by the end of the week. So why even care. Besides, with my squeaky clean reputation, the detention teacher would probably let me go an hour early.

Detention was dreadfully boring. All I did was sit there and stare at the detention teacher snore away.
You know what, I'm just gonna sneak out.
If I'm gonna be a bad student, might as well do it all the way.
I walked out and headed to a nearby vending machine. My footsteps halted as I walked passed the empty dance studio.
I gave the door a slight push to find it unlocked.
I'm not going to come back to this place anyways. Why not give it one last spin.
Putting on some classical music, my feet glided across the dance studio. Kicking off my flats, dancing bare footed. It all felt too familiar. This is how dancing was suppose to be...
Free.
No strings attached, no competitions, no rules or regulations. Just pure joy that replaces it all. Boy, I'm sure gonna miss this place. I thought to myself.
Spin after spin, leap after leap, the more the music went on, all the more I didn't want things to end.
But to all good things, there is a beginning and there is an end. I stared at my reflection on the wide mirror. All teary eyed. Taking one last deep breath, I greeted this place good bye.
Not long after leaving the dance studio I heard Taylor's high pitched voice calling me out from the behind.
"What is it. I'm not in the best mood now." I rubbed the corner of my eyes.
"I'm sorry, but I need your help. I think that new girl Victoria likes Brooklyn." She said.
"So? I don't see a problem."
"Common, I know you had always shipped Baylor." She pleaded.
I rolled my eyes at her couple name. "I'm sorry but I have my hands full." That and I supported Victoria and Brooklyn way more.
"I'll do anything for you. You name it."
"Unless you can make my parents change their mind of shipping me to another country... Then no. There's nothing you can do for me." I replied bluntly.
"Okay deal."
"Wait. What. How?" I stared at her as though she was crazy.
"I can do that. No problem. I'll just tell my parents to tell yours." She nodded her head.
I shook my head at the idea. It was crazy to trust her... But what other choice did I have left. But accepting her offer would also mean betraying Victoria.
Yet another cross road.
