Dead Girls Diary

Chapter Six.

"This will be all yours one day, Katherina."

Nates words ran through my hand over and over as we walk through the "Gallows". He informed that the Gallows were where the perished souls come after they are lost from death. They become creatures who if you saw them, they'd haunt your dreams forever. Every night the Gallows gained a new soul, I felt so bad for these souls. They use to be humans who lived and went down the wrong path, now they're these skinless looking creatures.

"This door leads to a better place, the Kingdom looks like a heaven I promise." Nate assures me, as he takes my shaking hand into his to calm me down. When he touched me a volt of electricity ran through my body. A part of me told me this was wrong and another part of me told me this was so right.

He unlocked the door by waving his hand, as the door opens my "breath" is taken by the beautiful scenery that was brought before us. He was right, it did look like heaven. The castle was clear to see, gold covering every aspect as sunset clouds surrounded the palace.

"This is beautiful." I comment. Just as the door shut behind us, a horse carriage pulls in front of us. "Um. What kind of horses are those?" I asked as I point the midnight black coat horses with blue flames as their main and light as their eyes. I agreed they were magnificent, but I get a vibe from them.

"Those my Katherina, are Nightmares." Nate answered, pulling my into the seat of the carriage. I didn't resist, there is no reason for me to. Within seconds the carriage yanked forward and we started the path to the Castle. This feeling formed into the pit of my stomach, I couldn't figure if it was a bad thing or good.

"What's wrong Katherina?"

I looked up to face Nate, his eyes once again changed color. This time they were deep blue with silver circling around.

"Can I ask a few questions?" I asked, hoping for a yes. I wanted to ask more than two, but I am trying not to push my luck.

He nodded for me to go on, taking a deep breath I began speaking. "First, why do you call me Katherina? My name is Katherine."

"Katherina is your name. Always has been, its the given name you countered with. When you were just a baby, we felt your presence. All of us could, your strength was and still is strong allowing us to feel you. That's how I found you." Nate explained, putting his hand on mine, intertwining them.

"Next, can you explain more of what I am? Why will this be all mine? Help me understand." I question, wanting to know more. Nate seemed to have answer to every thought, every question of my existence.

Funny and I thought Chase was my key. The answer to everything.

The thought of Chase made my insides feel brighter.

"I already explained that you my friend are the last Livia, your existence is sacred. Your gifts are outstanding and unthinkable, there is no limit to your abilities. You, like us all, have what we call a spark inside of your inner core. It's the keeper of everything that makes you, you." He takes a breath and then looks to the castle, still keeping our hands locked. "Katerina." He looks back to me, locking our eyes as if I held something so dear to him.

"The reason I say this will all be yours one day, is because your kind is the rightful owner of the connecting worlds. After we thought Livia's were all dead, my kind, The Immorals took over. We are the second down from royalty. But now that you're truly who you are suppose to be you will be announced Queen." He lifts the hand that is not locked in mine, using it to pull back a strand of hair behind my ear. "Katherina you are my mate."

I pull back a little, shocked by his last words.

You are my mate?

Before I could ask what he was talking about we approached the entrance to the castle. Hopping off the carriage, then helping me. Nate leads me through the group of "people" in our way.

"Those are your subjects." Nate informs, as though he could read my thoughts.

The doors to the castel swung open, following a creature.

The creature.

I caught the gaze of the creature who was pulling me away from Chase. He walks across the path until he was standing in front of me. Face to face with the creature I was fighting for Chases life.

"Katherina, what a pleasure to finally see you."
