Sunday after noon came quickly, not only for the Elite team but for the Jr National Japan team too. The nerves and excitement were equal in both teams, but for different reasons. Before the stadium even opened their door the home team was already doing their warm ups in the court. The flashing light and smiles in their faces could rival each other. There was no doubt that the Japanese team craved this encounter, but one member didn't seem to hold the same level of excitement as the others.
He didn't know why, but this dark aura surrounded him. A sense of foreboding settled in his chest, his senses were pushed to the extreme as he kept looking over his shoulder trying to determine were that bad feeling came from. It was as if something he could never have expected was going to happen. What that was he didn't know, and that frightened him.
His team members felt the apprehension their friend was going through. To them he looked as if he was a rubber band being pulled to its limits, almost at its breaking point. It was nothing like his usual self, but no matter how weird he was acting it didn't really make them worry. They believed in the fact that the moment the game started, the exact time he entered the court everything was going to go back to normal. Even so, the team captain had had enough of his behavior.
The small red headed team captain walked up to the taller red head. "What's wrong Kagami?" Akashi could see the way Kagami's muscles tensed as he tried to express what he was feeling to his team captain, but it just came out as a simple I don't know. Akashi looked at him with a doubtful look, making Kagami elaborate slightly. "I mean, ever since we stepped into the stadium I get the feeling that something is going to happen, and I don't thinks it's going to be good. Not only that but as the match gets closer it gets worse." Kagami picked up the basketball that rolled to his feet before shooting it and scoring a three pointer. Akashi squinted his eyes, trying to see if there was anything wrong with his form, but besides the fact that he was too tense everything else was perfect. "Maybe it's just nerves." Akashi offered. That only angered Kagami. "You think I haven't thought of that!"
"Look, you're clearly too tense. Go to the bathroom and calm down, after you do that come back. Not a moment before. That is an order." Akashi commanded leaving Kagami with no choice but to do as told. He grumbled something about crazy red heads under his breath as he made his way outside the court.
His shoes squeaked as he dragged his feet through the empty hallways making his ways to the farthest bathroom, knowing he needed the breather. Coincidently, the bathroom he was going to was the closest to the locker room the Elite team was going to use.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when the loud voices of foreigners echoed in the halls. He looked up to see a group of young men making their way to the court. They were all giants, most centering around his height some a little taller. Their black and gold jackets doing nothing to hide the muscles underneath, but what really caught his eye where the big golden letters spelling ELITE. He stopped in his tracks, before bolting in the direction he just came from, relatively unnoticed by the other team.
A hooded figure stopped in his tracks looking in the direction the man had just dashed of. He pulled his hood down reveling a sadistic smile along with hard eyes and blue-black hair. The rest of the team stopped to look at their Prince. They hadn't seen that smile in a long time, and even though they had seen it before it still sent chills down their backs. Good chills, the ones that made them happy they weren't in the receiving end of that smile. Not only that, it gave them a thrill that put similar smiles on their faces.
"Come on Testu, we got to get there before they open the doors, if we want to do it right." Jack hooked his arm behind Kuroko's neck dragging him down the hall to the door that led to the court.
Kuroko could't help but release a small laugh at his friends antics. Nonetheless he went along without protest. They walked the short distance in silence, mentally preparing themselves for what was going to come next. All of a sudden Zachary pushed Jack back before sprinting the rest of the way. "Last there gets to warm up the midget." The moment those words left his mouth the entire team bolted in a dead sprint to the door, that included pushing, shoving, cursing and tripping each other. As much as they loved their precious friend none of them really liked warming him up. Kuroko understood them and actually pitied the poor fool that was getting stuck with him.
