Kuroko sat in a corner of the bus reading while munching on a bagel. He was leaning against the window with his hood pulled up hiding his blue and black hair. He had his headphones on blocking out the soft chatter from the other few that were awake.
He was too engrossed in his book to realize someone sat down beside him until that person pulled out his right headphone making him jump. The person laughed at his reaction, but Kuroko just scowled. "What do you want, Jack-san?" He said. "Tetsu, I thought I told you to drop the honorific?" Jack said giving Kuroko a disapproving look. "You did, but old habits die hard," he said with a smirk. "You'd think that after being here for two years, you would've learned." Jack said earning a shrug from Kuroko. "Eh," Kuroko said making Jack laugh. "Anyways, coach said to give you your medicine." Jack said pulling out a syringe from a little bag he was carrying.
Kuroko flinched but sighed nodding at Jack before putting his book down and taking of his jacket. Kuroko offered his right arm as he turned away from Jack. No matter how many times he has had to do this he can never look at the needle. He just can't which in turn makes it impossible for him to do it himself. Kuroko was looking out the window when he felt the sharp pinch of the injection.
"This is your last one, right?" Kuroko nodded bitting on his lower lip. "Well then, your as good as new." Jack said while patting Kuroko's shoulder. Kuroko laughed. "I'm better than new." Jack joined him, before they were shushed by someone in the bus.
"Sorry." Jack said rather loudly earring him more shushes, but making Kuroko giggle. What an idiot, Kuroko thought. "Any ways, we are almost at the airport, so pack you things." Jack said before getting up and going to the front of the bus to where the coach sat.
Kuroko put his jacket back on pulling up the hood. He watched the scenery pass by as his thoughts traveled to a country far away. He never thought he would be going back, even less this soon, but he had to. Well it's not that it bothered him much going back to his mother land, in fact he was excited to be going back. As much as he liked the US that has served as his home for the past to years. The place where he has grown and matured, where his abilities have been honed to perfection. It doesn't compare to his mother land, he misses it a lot. He misses the people, the cities, the way things move, everything. He misses his parents too. He hasn't seen them in so long, almost the two years. Well they skype, but that doesn't count.
What he's not looking for is the games they have to play, or better yet, the team. He's not looking forward to playing the Japan Jr National Team. Not because they are strong, but because there is a person in that team which he completely despises. He can't stand the thought of him, how can he actually stand the sight of him. In fact he is not the only one in this team that hates that man's guts. Oh no, after he told his team, Elite Jr Basketball Team or Elite for short, they wanted to get on a plane and beat the bastard to an in of his life. Their words not his, but he would've liked to join them. Good thing the assistant coach was there and calmed everyone down, well he made them stay or run a hundred laps around the resort they were staying at. Everyone sat down quietly after that. Now he has a really overprotective family of brothers in arms, they are the only people he trust, but none of them are his light.
Never will he ever have a light again, besides he doesn't need it. He has been destroying and rebuilding his body for that very same reason. He will never be dependent on another person like he was with Aomine-kun and that other person, who he will not even name. He will stand strong and dominate the court as the shadow that consumes all light. The Dark Prince as the media has started to call him, how they came to call him that, he doesn't know, but it's quite fitting.
The bus slowed down as the parked in front of the airport. There was already paparazzi waiting for them at the entrance for Japanese Airlines flights. He heard the others groaning and some curses here and there as the lights flashed on, then came the rustling of clothes and bags as they gathered their things to walk of the bus.
He smiled to himself as he imagined how wonderful the pictures the paparazzi take of them would look, with the guys clothes all wrinkled and their messy bed heads, and the beautiful scowls they have, since most, if not all, are not morning people. Yes, very funny pictures.
He pulled his hood lower on his face, juts in case his misdirection is still not under his control. He gathered his belongings hoisting his bag on his left shoulder and walking out of the bus. The cool November night air made him shiver. He pulled his jacket closer before making his way into the building, sidestepping the crowd of paparazzi and his poor teammates that got caught in it. Ah, the perks of being the Dark Prince, Kuroko thought.
As soon as he was inside he cut off his misdirection while heading to the receptionist desk. He took out the passports of his teammates and coaches from his bag. "Hello sir, how may I help you?" A tall dark man said when Kuroko got there. He looked at Kuroko from his shoes to his jogging pants, to his jacket that had his team's logo and number on it, then to his neck where his headphones rested all the way up to his face. The older man's face flushed when he realized who he was talking to.
"Y-your are the Dark P-prince from the Elite's Jr team, right?" Kuroko warmly smiled at the man. "Yes, I am. That's the team back, there." Kuroko said, he always had a soft spot for his fans. "I-I can't believe it! I'm a huge fan of yours. I mean the way you play is incredible. I have never seen anything like it. I mean you are there and then you disappear only to appear another place and by the time people see you you are already gone, and your passes are unstoppable. Oh my God. I can't believe I actually met The Dark Prince." The man was definitely fangirling. He stopped to take a breath. He was in shock.
"Can I get your autograph?" The question was asked in an almost pleading voice, and how could Kuroko say no. Therefore, Kuroko waited for the main to go to his locker and take out the poster he, conveniently, had of the team for Kuroko to sign, which he did. By the time all of this happened the team got finished with the paparazzi and came over to where Kuroko stood, only for the man to enter another fangirling moment, where the entire team signed the poster.
After that the coach took control seeing that the members of the team, especially and blue and black haired boy, could't do it. It took in total fifteen minutes more when the coach finally got everything settled and the team made their way to the run way where the company's private jet awaited them. It took fifteen more minutes to get the team settled, and five more minutes to get the okay from the tower. It takes Eleven hours and forty-five minutes from LA to Tokyo, Japan.
It's going to be a long flight, Kuroko thought.
