The temperature fluctuated; a shocking ice chill... or was it a searing burn?

The thought was quickly dropped however, for the overall intensity of pain heightened.

The young man, who was currently laying on a table of metal, flinched— then wailed. However, the people surrounding him seemed to ignore his cries of affliction; they continued to pry and probe at the young man's wounded, marred flesh— reconstructing various parts of his body that were injured: the sliced calf, the blasted chasm in his waist, the impaled shoulder, and worst of all, the sizzling slash that went from jaw to forehead across his face.

He was scared of that injury most of all; even with his eyes shut, he could sense when fingers were close to touching it, and would recoil.

Scared as he may be from the pain in that slash, he felt pure hatred bubbling up inside of him.

It was that moronic scavenger girl who did this to him.

She had made a fool out of him, how dare her.

He should have killed her right there in his torture room. He should have killed her right when she resisted the Force.

As the young man withered in intense hatred and pain, everyone seemed to stop momentarily in patching him up as they noticed that one, then two, of the metallic scalpels were unintentionally Force-crushed before either could slice into skin.

A man who was watching from the doorway, General Hux, narrowed his eyes at this scene before raising his hand in command for everyone to stop. "Leave, and wait for my order to come back in."

With nods in reply, everyone set down what they had in their hands and left, leaving the room silent.

Slicking a strand of titian colored hair back with his gloved hand, General Hux made his way into the room, shutting the door behind him.

"You let that girl conquer you, Ren."

The young man, whose name was Kylo Ren, excruciatingly opened his eyes to peer over to the general. Ren was in too much agony to talk back to this man who annoyed him as much as the scavenger girl did; this got him even more infuriated that another medical instrument was Force-crushed unconsciously.

Hux tried to ignore the gradual demolition of tools (for he did not care for the beliefs of the 'magical Force', rather, busing himself in the more scientific and literal ways of the galaxy), and sat himself stiffly on a chair next to the suffering young man.

"The Supereme Leader is not pleased with you. But he is here to finally complete your training."

Upon hearing those words, Ren found himself gasping, feeling slightly thrilled.

Finally, his quest upon journeying into The Dark Side will be complete!

Hux glared down at the other man. "The Starkiller base has been destroyed, I'll have you know. We are on the nearby planet of Rakata Prime— luckily we had an old operating base here, so that is where we are right now." He was silent for a moment before saying, "Do you remember when we picked you up in the forest, Ren? Before Starkiller base was abolished? You were mumbling about Han Solo before you passed out."

Kylo Ren let out a small groan in response.

Was he really muttering about his father at a time of near death?

No.

No...

Surely that mustn't have been it. Hux was merely mistaken; obviously if Ren had to unconsciously speak whilst dying, it would have been about his grandfather or simply no one at all.
