In the morning, Mercury had her head on Sherlock's chest and an arm draped loosely around him. Sherlock had an arm tightly around her, as if he was protecting her. Sherlock's eyes fluttered open and he sat up, shaking Mercury softly. She soon woke up. Her violet eyes looked up into his. "Good morning.", he said, getting out of bed and helping her out of bed. She yawned and a small smiled played on Sherlock's lips as he got stuf to get ready. "How did you sleep, Mercury?", he said but he felt as if he already knew the answer. She nodded some. "Eh..better than I did the other night..", she said softly, yawning afterwards. Sherlock thought for a moment. Was it him that made her sleep better? No, it couldn't be. Maybe it was... "I haven;t slept that well in forever..", she said looking at Sherlock. It was because of him! Sherlock looked back at her. He smiled softly and walked by her, going into the bathroom and getting dressed. Mercury also got dressed. She was waiting for him by the door with John. "Morning.", John said to Sherlock. Sherlock nodded once and walked to them, grabbing her hand and walking out, her other hand in John's hand. She yawned again and walked with them.

Soon they were at a scene. Mercury whimpered and grew scared. There she was, staring at a dead, lifeless body. She felt her small stomach turn as she began to cry, capturing the attention of the others. John looked at her and walked to her, pulling her out of there. When they were out, Mercury and John sat on a bench. He was comforting her and rocking her back and forth, wiping her tears. A few hours, Sherlock soon came out and told John to go back into the scene area. John nodded and went, leaving Mercury with Sherlock. Sherlock sat beside her and watched her sob silently. He soon began to speak to her. "It's alright, Mercury. I'm here...", he said, pulling her onto his lap gently and wrapping his arms around her. He shushed her and stroked her hair. "W-Why is he dead, S-Sherlock..?", she asked, looking up at him, sobbing softly. He wiped her tears. He didn't want to tell her. "A bad person didn't want him on the earth anymore...", he said, only making Mercury cry and shiver more. He frowned and wrapped his scarf around her neck gently, and taking off his coat and putting it around her. He held her closer. "Don't worry, Mercury... that won't happen to you... I won't let it happen...shh...", he said softly. She soon calmed to sniffles and dozed off in his arms. Sherlock looked down at her and smiled softly, kissing her head. That had to be the first time anyone has fallen asleep in his arms. That was the first time he had comforted her. John and the others soon came out. "We'll have to come back tomorrow. We have to go since it's getting a bit late.", John informed, Sherlock sighed. He didn't want to wake Mercury up. She looked so cute and peaceful in her sleep. Sherlock gently picked her up and stood. "Hail a cab, John.", he said, carrying Mercury. Sherlock soon woke Mercury up and let her crawl into the cab, sitting in the middle. She coughed some and Sherlock patted her back. Mercury whimpered and set her head on Sherlock's arm, one hand in John;s hand and one in Sherlock's hand. She yawned and soon drifted to sleep.

When they got home, Sherlock carried Mercury in with her legs around head on his shoulder. Sherlock gently laid her down on the couch while he took his scarf and coat off and picked her back up and went to his room, crawling into their bed with her, and wrapping his arms around her.
