The consulting detective , Sherlock Holmes, and his wonderful assistant, John Watson hurried down the immensely busy streets of London, England on their way to a crime scene when something made John stop. "John, what is wrong?", Sherlock asked, a tiny bit impatient with his partner. John just ignored him and walked forward, towards a, what seemed to be an abandoned alley, when Sherlock began to scold him. "John!!! Bloody hell!! The scene is NOT this way!! Get on task!!!", the sociopath yelled at John. John just ignored him when he reached the alley.

To his dismay, there was a small, skinny, and crying girl with her skinny knees pulled to her chest. Sherlock rolled his eyes and waited, impatient. "Come on, John. We have no time for homeless bums!", he yelled, causing the girl to look up and cry harder. John glared daggers at Sherlock before going back to the girl. Sherlock rolled his eyes and walked home, for it was too late to go to the crime scene. John just sat beside the crying girl and pulled her into his arms, allowing her to cry on his shoulder. "Shh..it's okay...no need to cry..", he said, rubbing her back softly. When the girl calmed down, John softly smiled and pulled back. "May I ask for your name, dear?", he asked, brushing hair out of her face. She took a breath before answering. "M-Mercury...and yours?", she said, her voice hoarse and very soft. John smiled again. "I'm John, and that was my friend..Sherlock.", he answered.

The girl, now known as Mercury, asked him a simple yet sad question. "I-I know I don't really k-know but..", she looked away bashfully before finishing her sentence. "May I stay with you..? I'm homeless.", she said, her bright purple eyes glossing over. John smiled faintly and nodded. He didn't care what Sherlock said about her staying, he was going to let her stay. He helped her up and they walked home. Poor Mercury had no idea what she was getting into...
