My name is Scar and I, along with my twin brother Ash, was born on Gallifrey, during the time war. It wasn't the best place to be at the moment, but that was how my life began. Under the raging war between the Timelords and the Daleks.

My parents knew that it was only a matter of time before we were found and probably killed. They took us into the mountains of Gallifrey. There was a cave that they dropped us off at. ...

Now, I know what your thinking. Why leave two infants in a cave all alone?

Let me explain. We were not ordinary infants. We were Timelords, born during the Time War and the last Children of Gallifrey. So, our parents knew that they had to keep us safe and, at the time, that cave was the only safe place on the planet. They left us there in the dark.

A few hours later, the moon came up and shown through a crack in the ceiling. It lit up the cave. There was a small pool and the moonlight hit it, making it sizzle.

I looked over at my twin brother and watched as his tiny infant body slipped into the water. I started to cry, not understanding what was happening. I was sure he was going to drown, and he did. His golden regeneration energy flowed out of the pool and mixed with the moonlight. He stepped out of the pool, putting one paw in front of the other.

Yeah, that's right, I said paw. My brother had turned into a white wolf pup.

I don't know if it was weird puppy instincts or whatever strange thing it was, but he padded up to me and pushed my tiny infant body into the pool. Yes, I drowned, and yes, it hurt, but when I came out of the pool, I looked down at my own paws. I had turned into a wolf pup, too! Only my wolf pup body was black.

I padded up to my brother and nuzzled him, silently thanking Rassilon that we were still alive.

We looked at the pool that was still glowing with the moonlight and was surprised, and a little frightened, when a man appeared standing on the water.
