Ash ran into the blue box, pulling me along with him. We looked around at our new surroundings. That box was huge on the inside.

The man who told us to go in, quickly closed the doors and ran around this big circular machine. He slammed his fists on the buttons and pulled levers up and down.

He had spiky, brown hair, a blue stripes suit, and before he started jumping around the big machine, he had thrown a brown trench coat into the railing.

"Who are you?" Ash asked.

"I'm the Doctor!" The man said quickly, still running around the big machine.

"Ok... Doctor... What is this- Oof!" The room shook with tremendous force, causing Ash to fall on top of me mid-sentence.

Ash got up and helped me up as well. The room had stopped spinning, and the Doctor was leaning on the big machine, like he was used to the whole "room shaking" situation.

"You were saying?" He asked.

"Right." I said, taking a deep breath. "So, your name is The Doctor."

"Correct!" He said, grinning from ear to ear.

"Ok, well... what is... this place?" I asked.

His grin grew wider. "This is the TARDIS. My spaceship. It stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space."

I nodded, going along with what he was saying. He was speaking so fast, that I just didn't know what the heck he was talking about.

"Ok, and who are you?" Ash asked.

The Doctor frowned at this question. "I told you... I'm the Doctor..."

Ash shook his head. "I know, that's your name, but who ARE you? Why were you on Gallifrey, right when those... those things were after us?"

The Doctor thought for a moment. "Well, I had to save my sons, didn't I?"

Ash's eyes grew wide. "You're our Father? My... My Dad?"

The Doctor nodded. "Yep!" He said, popping the 'p'.

Ash shook his head. "But, we have two Fathers. Where is the other one?"

The Doctor burrowed his eyebrows. "I'd rather not talk about it."

"But... But..." I stuttered.

The Doctor looked at me and I could see hatred in his eyes. In fact, I could see a whole lot of mixed emotions in those eyes. Wisdom, torture, rebellion... it was all there...

"I'd really... rather not talk about it." He said, determinedly.

I nodded. "Ok. Well... could you at least... take us to him?"

The Doctor shook his head. "No..."

Ash frowned. "But, you can't be our Father... Our parents are Theta and Koschei!"

The Doctor's eyes softened a bit. "I haven't been called Theta in... years..."

"Why not?" I wondered out loud.

The Doctor shook his head, as if coming out of a long memory. He started to jump around his big machine again. "You know what? In this regeneration, I am way too old to take care of you. ... Well, I don't feel old, but I know I am... Well, sort of... Well, kind of... Anyway! I'll take you to your parents!"

"But, you just said..." Ash started to say, but the Doctor cut him off.

"You're going to have so much fun! But..." He looked at Ash. "Beware of the Lions..."

Ash looked confused. "What does that mean?"

The Doctor shrugged. "You'll find out..." He pulled a lever and stepped back, pointing to the door. "There we go. Out there... are your parents..."

I got excited and ran to the door. "Daddy!"

Ash sighed and followed me. I heard him turn around and say, "Thanks, Doctor." Before following me outside.
