A New Beginning

{Asigned a horse to help}

*Cassie's POV*

As soon as Amanda spoke the chatter quietened down to the point it got a little awkward.

'Hey's and 'hello's were exchanged causing a slight smile to appear on Amanda's face.

Everyone kind of broke into their own conversations.

I walked over to a guy with black short hair and wearing a blue shirt, standing by himself.

"Hey". I said kind of awkwardly.

He smiled down at me before saying "hey, I'm Chris".

"Cassie". I shook his hand.

By the time 15 minutes had passed I had learnt everyone's names.

Lilly-Mae,Jake,Hailey,Cait,Tom,Alex,Mary,
Paul and Chris.

We had a tour of the house and now it was time to be given a tour of outside.

Apparently Caity and Mary had to exercise their horses so it was just Hailey, Lilly, Jake, the boys and I.

We were wondering around the stables, me being in the back. When Chris came up to me.

"Hey". He said.

I looked up at him. "Uh... Hey".

"How are you?". He asked.

I smiled, "I'm good, it's different to my old life style". I replied.

"Let me guess, you were one of those city folks?".

"I guess you could say that". I laughed.

"I was one, then I came here to visit my Aunty for a few days, I loved it that much I didn't want to leave". He confessed.

"Well I've always had a passion for horses". I looked around at my surroundings and noticed we weren't in the stables anymore, we were at the round yard.

"Do you have a horse?". I asked, looking at Caity exercising her horse.

"Yeah, his name is jimmy, he's a chestnut thoroughbred". Chris replied.

"I hope you guys know how to ride". Amanda said as she came up behind up. "Because we are all going on a trail ride to show Cassie,Lilly and Jake where the fence line goes to".

"Awesome". I heard someone say.

"Alright, if you newbies could follow me, I'll show you the horses you'll each be taking care of". I heard Amanda say.

"Have fun". Chris said from next to me.

"...thanks".

I followed our little group into the paddocks, the first horse was a Dutch warm blood, fully trained.

"This fella is named butch, he's 9 years old.". Amanda Stated.

"Those two fillies out there". Amanda pointed out. "Are American stock horses. The lighter brown is Milly, and the other is Charlie".

"They're so cute". Lilly said.

"So whe-". I was cut off by a horse kicking out at the stable doors.

"That one there is a crazy horse, make sure to stay clear of that one". Paul said, Scaring me from his sudden appearance.

"What's her name?". Jake asked.

"Doesn't have one". Mary replied.

I swear these people teleport.

She was a beautiful horse, I couldn't tell for sure but she was either dark brown, or black.

"Lyric" I said to myself.

"What". Mary asked confused.

"Oh, sorry. That was my other horses name". I nervously said.

"Alright, well I'm going to let you guys get settled in, feel free to explore some more, supper will be done at 6". Amanda said before going off into the stables.

"Lilly, wanna come check out the fences with me?". Mary asked.

"I'd love to, are we walking?".

"Nope, saddle up a horse, I'll meet you at the arena, Paul help lilly saddle up a horse will ya". And just like that, they were gone.

I sighed before making my way into the stables, but making sure to stay clear of the mustang.
