I really appreciate any feedback you have, I want to make this the best it can be so I don't waste your time reading a crap story :)
Come with me," he ordered, and turned back the way he'd come, assuming I'd follow.
He was obviously used to people obeying his orders, and I wondered briefly what would happen if I refused.
The thought lasted a whole second. I figured, there was most likely a reason that people did what he told them to do. I doubted very much that I was the only one who felt as intimidated by him as I did.
And I already knew what would happened to me anytime I refused to do something that I was ordered to do.
He led me across the barren land toward the castle. There were two guards standing by the doors, demon soldiers, like the ones who had taken the others away.
They opened the huge wooden doors in the front of the castle that we had all been headed towards, stepping into a room. It was empty of people, or demons for that matter, save for the two of us. Shadows stretched across the stone floor, dancing in the corners from the torches burning all around us in their brackets, which were mounted on the walls.
Although the red eyed man seem eager to hurry on to where ever it was that he was leading me, I had to stop and marvel at the enormous room that we were passing through, at the two, identical throne like chairs. They were raised high above the floor, several steps leading up to each, sitting between two huge windows overlooking the landscape. I felt too scared to even think about looking out of them, afraid of what I would see.
I half expected the winged man to ascend the stairs to the thrones. He most definitely belonged on a throne, anyone could see that. Instead, he lead me through the room, through yet another door and down a twisting corridor. We ascended another flight of stairs, until, finally, we entered a smaller room, and I had completely lost all sense of where I was.
"This can be yours," the red eyed man said. "You can stay here for as long as you need to."
"Need to?" I repeated, with a sinking feeling.
He nodded, holding my gaze.
"For as long as you're here," he answered simply.
I glanced around and my heart sped up nervously as I realized we were in some sort of bedroom.
"Take a seat," he told me, indicating the four poster bed against the wall.
I was apprehensive as I perched on the very edge of the soft mattress, but, despite myself, I felt suddenly exhausted. All I wanted to do was to climb under the thick blankets and fall asleep.
The red eyed man leaned casually against the wall opposite, and regarded me with curiosity. I squirmed, uncomfortable under his scrutiny.
I couldn't stand it anymore.
"Where the hell am I?" I blurted out, and instantly regretted it. My voice echoed around the room, loud and frightened as I waited for him to respond.
I expected him to reprimand me, or hit me or something, just like Brett would have, but instead, he chuckled, a deep, humorous sound. It didn't sound right, echoing around such a dejected place as the one we were in.
He was different to the person that I'd come face to face with outside just moments before. He didn't seem as sinister when he smiled like that. He almost looked kind.
