" We never wanted you! We never loved you! You're worthless!" My dad screams, spiting in my face and kicking me in the ribs with his steal toed boots. I hear a snap and try to hold back the scream.
"Get the hell out of my sight. I don't want to see your fat, ugly face again." I lay there, unable to move.
I feel someone roughly grab my arm and pull me to my feet, almost snapping my arm out of socket. My rib moves and I know it's broken. It wouldn't be the first time...
"I said leave! Get OUT!" He throws me at the door, and I fumble a little before getting it open. I don't have any of my things, but I'll come back for those later.
I was about to get onto the sidewalk when I feel something hit me in the back of the head hard. A glass bottle shatters against my head, and I fall to the ground. I hear the words "Never come back" before passing out.
I wake up shaking, sweat drenching my forehead making my hair stick to it.
I look around, scared because I wasn't in a car, but in a random room, Alex no where to be seen.
"Alex?" I sit up looking around.
Wait, what am I saying? I bet he some how got me in here and then left.
I stand up, taking a better look around the room.
This was like a fuckin 5 star hotel. The room was huge, a master bed and a flat screen. I had my own little fridge. I see a door on the other side of the room.
I sigh and lay back down, closing my eyes.
In the dead silence, I hear a door quietly open and then there's even quieter foot steps.
I get creeped out and curl over, grabbing the button of the lamp. What? it's all I got....
Quickly, I stand up and start to swing it.
"Emma! It's me! Emma!" Alex holds his hands up in self defence as the lamp almost hits him, his chest rising and falling quickly.
"Alex! What are you still doing here? I almost killed you!" I say.
"I'm sorry! It's just, I didn't want you to think I just left! And then when I was about to leave, you started shaking and crying but I was to scared to wake you up! What was that all about?" He sounds worried.
"It...it was just a nightmare." More like a memory...
"Was someone like, killing you or something?" He laughs.
"Pretty close yeah..." I sit back down on the bed and place my head in my hands.
"This place is a little to nice for a girl off the streets, don't ya think?" I pear up at him from the corner of my eye.
He just laughs again. Is he always in a good mood?
" It's fine. It isn't that expensive. But I heard some band or someone famous was staying here." He shrugs.
I don't know any new artists. Not being able to listen to any new music is a disadvantage.
"That's cool." I lay back on the bed, it's softness engulfing me in warmth.
There is a moment of silence before Alex claps his hands.
"Well, it's late. I better get going. See ya later Emma. It was really nice to meet you." He heads over to the door.
"Thanks Alex, for everything. Night....well, morning." I wave.
He opens the door and steps out, only to pop it back in.
