The next day, I woke up early and went outside to see the horses. I couldn't stop thinking about Jaspers kiss... I couldn't tell if I liked it or hated it. But I knew I couldn't fall in love. I knew this couldn't happen again.
I reached the barn where the horses slept and smiled slightly at their beauty. One was younger. He had bright blue eyes and white coated fur. The other one was older, seeming to be his mother. She had a brown and white spotted coat and hazel eyes. Both horses were amazingly beautiful.
I admired the horses for a while longer, and walked along the wire fence. I stopped as the horses got up and began to eat. I heard light footsteps behind me and and a gentle voice.
"Good morning," Jasper said, walking up next to me.
"You have beautiful horses," I said, smiling at him.
"You want to ride one?"
"No, I can't. I don't know how. I've never touched a horse before let alone ride it," I said, taking a step back.
"Come on, I'll help you." He took my hand and looked into my eyes. I couldn't say no. His beautiful eyes put me into a trance. I had to say yes.
"Okay."
He lead me through the gates and to the older horse. Jasper lifted me up without an effort onto the her.
As he got on with me, I held onto him tight and I could feel him smiling.
"You ready?" He asked.
"Yeah. I'm ready."
He gave the horse a little nudge and she went off.
We went around the town and through the woods. I've never felt so complete before. I've never felt so... Safe.
We laughed and talked while we rode for what seemed like an eternity. But... That wasn't a bad thing.
We finally reached the barn once again and jumped off as the horse stopped. Jasper tied her up and we walked back into the house.
"Damian and his wife are out shopping. They won't be back for a few hours," He said, opening the door for me.
Jasper led me into the house and sat me down onto the couch.
"What would you like for breakfast?" He asked.
I remembered when Jax would make me pancakes every morning, and we would sit on his ripped up couch and watched the beautiful sun rise. The reality hit me in the face like a ton of bricks. That was all just an act... Jax never meant it when he said 'I love you.' It was all fake.
I blinked and snapped back. Jasper looked at me confused.
"I'll make some pancakes," he said, leaving to the kitchen.
I stared into space for a while then stood. I went into the kitchen as Jasper was putting the pan on the stove.
"You okay? You seem kinda out of it," he stated.
"I was just thinking."
I stood close to him and watched as he mixed the batter and poured it onto the pan. He smiled at my studied look.
I turned my head up to him and felt a smile grow across my lips. I just couldn't get over how amazing he was.
He turned his head to me and met my gaze. He slowly placed his hands on my cold cheeks and kissed my lips. I was shocked for a moment but then something happened. My heart raced and I got butterflies in my stomach. It was amazing.
