"How's your day?" tanong ko kay Adrian habang kumakain kami ng dinner. It's always like this. We'd have dinner then talk about things. After dinner, he'll take me home and we separate ways.
"It was good. Great, even. We managed to close two deals. It's great for the business," sabi niya sa akin. "How about you?"
"Guess what, I got invited to Sir Ben's party! I'm so excited!" Kinwento ko sa kanya kung paano ako nilapitan ni Sir Ben at kung paano niya inabot ang imbitasyon.
"That's great! I'm so happy for you," sabi niya sa akin tapos ay nabalot na naman kami ng katahimikan. Comfortable silence, at least.
"Wait, are you free Saturday?" tanong niya.
"This Saturday?" tanong ko. Naalala ko naman na birthday ng isa kong kaibigan and I can't miss that.
"Nope, the week after next," aniya.
"Oh, matagal pa naman pala! Yes, I think pwede naman ako. Why?" tanong ko.
"There's a company banquet. And, the board of directors would want to meet you. Of course, you're going to be my wife," sabi niya sa akin.
"Well then, I'm going. Sigurado rin namang papasamahin ako ni Dad so I have no choice," sabi ko sa kanya. Pero parang mukhang iba ang dating noong sinabi ko sa kanya.
"I'm sorry if you're forced to go to these things. Pasensya na kung abala pa ito sa iyo. I hope you understand," paliwanag niya sa akin.
"No! Don't take it the other way. I mean, I love going to parties. Socializing is my thing, remember? Besides, these parties will not stop, right? So, don't worry about me," wika ko. I don't want him to worry about me. I don't want to be a burden to him.
"Alright. After you finish your meal, I'll take you home," sabi niya sa akin. Tumango naman ako. Hm, just like every day. Ni hindi nga niya sinusubukan na hawakan ako! He's so prim and proper. We've been engaged for about a month or two and all I've got from him is a kiss on the cheek! Habang kami ni Oliver, halos memoryado na namin ang katawan ng isa't isa.
Pagka-uwi ko sa condo ay naabutan ko pa ang teleserye nitong si Oliver. Agad ko naman siyang tinext para inisin.
