Chapter 7

Dani's Pov
Flashback
"Hey dad, where are we going vacation?" Eleven years old I ask.
"What part of a surprise don't you understand" My dad jokes.
Even though he try's his best to put on a smile, I see he's distressed; it must be his job whenever something bad happens we go on a "vacation", even though we both know it's not a real vacation, he says it is so I don't have to worry. My dad and I are about finished packing, and about to pick my mom up from work when I hear a bang not only a bang but also a crash. The window next to me shatters and bits of glass Pierce through my flesh and blood trickles down like rain down a window.
"Dani, I want you hid in the closet and call Frank, be as quiet as you can." Says my dad as he shoves me in the closet.
I dial the number my dad made me memorize, as I try to ignore the shouting and the other noises like someone being punched in the face.
"Hello?" Asks Frank.
As tears run down my cheeks like the rain before Noah's flood, I manage to tell Frank my situation.
"I'll be right there be as quiet as you can, and keep me on the line," Frank says urgently.
I peek through the small crack that is between the closet door and wall, my dad strapped to a chair with a man dressed in black beating him.  A scream threatens to escape my lips as the man reaches for a knife. The man exits the room and my dad looks straight at the closet and whispers in Latin, dulcis puer oculos tuos tamquam panem cogitemus. (close your eyes my sweet child let us think of it as bread and butter.)
A/n just in case you don't know the metaphor bread and butter means we will separate but will meet again.
I close my eyes as a scream pierces through the room, and I crumble to the floor dropping the phone as it clutters to the floor. The noise must have given away my hiding spot because the door opens. As I wait for my death nothing comes and I glance to see the man picking up the phone looking to see who it is and chuckle.
"Aww, Frank we haven't talked in a while have we? Well I'm here with John's daughter, she is quite beautiful, and I can see her grow into quite a gorgeous women, too bad John won't be here to see that," he says with a sigh, "I'm really not a pedophile type of guy but imagine all sorts of naughty things I can do to her if you don't hurry, and oh Frank for her sake you better hurry." And with that, he hangs up the phone.
" Oh, how much therapy you're going to need, but I wasn't lying you really are beautiful... Hopefully, I get to see you in the future." With that, he bends down grabs my chin and kisses me. I lost my first kiss to a monster.
I close my eyes and reopen them to realize I'm on my street, I look around and see Frank, Frank's alive! I run towards him, but then I see the blood, so much blood. I start to back away.
"Dani, you did this to me you're the reason I'm dead, you could have stopped all this back when it started when you were in the closet you knew that there was a gun there you could have killed him" Yells Frank on the top of his lungs!
"I was scared, I wasn't thinking straight, I was only eleven, and my dad only taught me the week before how to use a gun, I hadn't even shot it yet," I scream my voice cracking, tears streaming down like Niagara Falls. That's when he raises his gun... I close my eyes and cover my ears.
BANG!
End of flashback
I scream waiting to die but I'm not in the street, I'm in my bed, it was a dream, just a dream. I don't notice Derek enter my room, as I sit there crying like a baby, but Frank was right, it was my fault and I have to stop him.
A/n Wow that was intense what did you guys think? I wanted to try something different so I added a flashback did you like it? I'm pretty sure that was my longest chapter I'm proud of myself.
