       Harry's so precious.

          Valerie

It was finally Christmas Eve, the day before my favourite day of the year. But it was also Louis' birthday, whom I haven't even seen the past few days because of that f.ucking Emilia. He has been so wrapped up in her business that he hadn't even bothered to come home, only sending me a text message here and there that Emilia wanted him to stay the night.

Yes okay, I get she is the mother of his child and he's trying to maintain a healthy relationship but that doesn't mean he has the right to basically fall off the face of the Earth. At this point I didn't even care if I was being selfish, I missed my brother.

When we were kids, on Christmas Eve, a.k.a Louis' birthday. Dad would let us make pizzas and then we would watch Christmas films until it was time for bed, which after a while had turned into a tradition for Louis and I. We had not missed a year since.

It was currently five in the afternoon and I was in the kitchen preparing ingredients for the pizzas, ready for when Louis got home. I walked over to the living room to turn on the Christmas tree lights, that me and Lou had managed to put up just before he disappeared to Emilia's.

I set out Louis' birthday presents on the coffee table nicely before getting comfortable on the couch, waiting patiently for him to return from Emilia's.

An hour had slowly passed and Louis was still not home, I was being stood up by my own brother. Unlocking my phone, I decided to call him.

"Hey Val." He answered.

"Uh, hi. When are you coming home?" I questioned.

"Um, Val I'm sorry but Emilia's family asked me to stay for dinner."

"But what about our tradition?" I asked, my heart sinking.

"Val, don't you think we're getting too old for that, we're not kids anymore."

"Um, okay, yeah I guess. What about your presents?"

"I'll just open them tomorrow."

"Happy f.ucking Birthday. Have fun with Emilia, Louis." I spoke, hanging up before he had a chance to speak.

I cleaned up the kitchen as there was no reason for it to be out. Grabbing Louis' present I made my way into his room and threw them on his bed, not caring if I damaged any of them.

Why the heck was I so upset because of this? After all, it's just a stupid childish tradition, right?

Maybe I should I go and see Liam, we had not stopped texting ever since our date. I knew he was staying in London for Christmas and not going back to Wolverhampton, I just hoped he was home right now.  I slipped on some shoes before shuffling over to the front door, double checking if I had my keys so I couldn't get locked out, oh man that would top off my night for sure.

I opened the door and locked it behind me. I scoffed at the sight of the familiar brown curls. A blue-haired girl was pinned against the wall, Harry's arm each side of her. His lips colliding with hers while her arms roaming widely over his body. I wanted to vomit at the sight but instead tears blurred my vision, what the f.uck Valerie, stop this s.hit right now before he sees you.

Oh s.hit, too late. Looks like the plans of seeing Liam just got flushed down the drain, I hurried back into my apartment before Harry could speak.

Seconds later there was a knock on my door, oh great. I didn't even have the energy to put up with his sarcastic remarks, so I just ignored his pounding on my door and attempted to watch 'The Polar Express'.

I reached for my phone and saw that there was a message from an unknown number, which I assumed was Harry.

Unknown number: 'Are you okay?'

'Yep'

Unknown number: 'Valerie don't f.ucking b.ullshit me, you were crying.'

Oh so he has a heart today, just dandy. I saved his number into my phone and labelled his contact name as 'Harry'. Wait how the heck did Harry even get my number? Eh, oh well.

My phone dinged again, I huffed at Harry's persistence. But much to my dismay it was actually Louis this time.

Lou: 'Valerie, I'm sorry x :('

I didn't even bother replying, but instead I called Maggie and asked if she wanted to come over which she thankfully agreed to. About half an hour later there was a knock on the door, I quickly jumped off the couch to answer it.

Maggie had her hair in pigtails, a pair of reindeer antlers on her head and she was dressed in a light up Christmas sweater, black tights and Uggs.

"Merry Christmas Eve" she exclaimed, handing me my own Christmas sweater. "Oh s.hit. Why do you look so sad, it's Christmas Eve girl." I shrugged my shoulders and let her inside.

Once Maggie set down her bags and I changed into my sweater, she got herself comfortable on the couch and patted beside her for me to sit.

"Hun, what's wrong?" She asked, concerned.

I explained to her about the whole Louis situation and well everything really, Harry, Liam, the whole lot.

"I honestly can't believe Louis would do that to you. But yay, I'm so glad you're taking a liking to Liam and well f.uck boy can f.uck himself, no offence." I laughed at her response. "Now, I believe we have some Christmas movies to watch."

.     .     .     .     .

It was Christmas morning, well actually it was twelve o'clock and I had just woken up. Excitement rushed through my body but quickly turned to disappointment when I remembered I was alone for majority of the day. Maggie went home about midnight after we exchanged our presents, she definitely made my night a hundred-and-ten percent better.

I glanced over at my phone and was surprised to see I had a message from Harry.

Harry: 'Merry Christmas, H x.'

'Merry Christmas :)'

Holy heck that boy was confusing.

I clicked onto mine and Louis' messages, I was expecting at least a message from him but there was nothing.

I slammed my phone down on my bed in frustration, what a great start to a great day.

It was now ten at night, Christmas was basically over and I had heard nothing from Louis. I had spent the whole day basically alone, Liam came over for a bit which was nice but apart from that my day was not the best.

I had already crawled into bed as I just wanted this day to be over, my eyes began to become heavy. My phone dinged, bringing me out of my half-asleep state.

Louis: 'Merry Christmas Valerie. I miss you x'
