Summer knows she's gay. She has known for three years; when Summer was 15 she was playing truth or dare with a small group of friends she had at the time. One of her friends had dared her to be locked in the most tightest closets in the house for 10 minutes with the most popular girl in the school, Alex. Alex and Summer didn't necessarily have bad blood, but they weren't the best of friends either. They could tolerate each other without either of them wanting to fight each other physically, but still threw insults at each other.

But the last thing Summer expected to happen was to have Alex half naked in front of her with Summer being covered in hickeys only to Alex to deny every single thing that happened with saying that Summer was forcing her and that Summer was a crazy lesbian chick who confessed her love for her.

That was Summers first ever relationship with a girl.

They dated each other in secret from the middle of sophomore year up until the summer of junior year when Alex's brother caught them together making out. And it's not like Alex's family was homophobic. Alex's uncle and brother are gay. It's just that if they were gay then how was the family name going down the line? Alex's mom is desperately depending on her only daughter to pass down the bloodline with a penis but Alex is just not into penises.

When her brother caught her with Summer, he thought that he was probably just seeing things because he has walked in on her having sex with a dude and then her brother just came to the conclusion that she was bisexual, but she ended up telling him that she was a lesbian and liked boobs and pussy. Alex was so freaked that her brother would snitch that she broke up with Summer then spread a rumor around that Summer was stalking her and giving her love letters.

She got called a 'dyke' and 'faggot' so much she stopped counting after 33. She even tried killing herself at one point. She tried taking a bunch of pills and even almost succeed, but then her dad came in and quickly called 911. It took half a day to pump put her stomach that was filled with as many Summer could find at that moment.

That's the day when Summer's parents thought that it was time to move to a whole different state because Arizona was suffocating her and sucking her soul out of her.

And that's how she got to Baldwin Senior High School in Baldwin, New York.

That's also how she met Melanie Martinez.

But that's another story.
