You and Louis had been dating for a 7 months now, he knew you had a little boy but he hasn’t yet met your son. Your son Adam was only young and still doesn’t understand why his daddy doesn’t live with you, and why he has to go from house to house. So you thought it was best to just wait a little.Louis understood and was patient, when ever he knew Adam was with you he wouldn’t come around although he would ring and text you. You were so lucky to have someone as understanding as Louis.
One day you and Louis were taking a walk in the park, he was enjoying being with you and being off work, you were enjoying the moment with him and having some time without Adam. You loved being with Adam but sometimes he was a handful because he didn’t always have his dad around. You get a text from your ex.
“hi I hate to be a bother but Adam is sick, he keeps asking for you, I don’t want to argue I know I should be the father and know what to do but he won’t stop crying for you, and I know it’s your weekend off and you have things to do, but yeah." is what the message read.
“what’s wrong?" Louis asks noticing you went quiet,
“hey I need to go pick Adam up at his dads he is sick, and wanting me" you explain to Louis. He understands,
“can you please drive me Lou?" you ask.
“sure but wouldn’t you rather go without me?"
“no you can come, he will meet you eventually and I don’t want to keep him waiting" you answer. Louis nods and you go straight back to his car. You direct him to where your ex lived, and Louis parked outside the house.
“uh do you want to come out?" you ask a little awkwardly,
“do you want me to, I don’t want to push things?" he asks,
“you can I mean if you don’t want to you don’t have to, but I think you should, what happens if I can’t pick him up, my ex won’t just hand him to you unless I introduce him to you and stuff" you say to Louis he nods and you both get out of the car. Louis seemed nervous,
“calm down geee my ex isn’t that important, no need to get nervous" you whisper to him as you ring the doorbell. You and your ex separated on good terms, so you had no problem with Louis meeting your ex. He answers the door and says hi to you,
“uh this is my boyfriend I wanted you two to me just in case, if I can’t pick Adam up, he can" you start to say,
“nice to meet you" your ex says putting out his hand, Louis shakes it,
“you too" he replies. Adam came running to the door and jumped into your arms,
“mummy"
“hello" you say kissing his forehead,
“I’m sorry to ruin your day he wouldn’t stop crying he wanted you" your ex states,
“it is okay, what’s wrong with him?" “I took him to the doctors and they said it was the common cold, I got him some medicine and packed it in his bag.
"you ex informs you as he hands you Adams back,
“thanks, do you still have Adams car seat I left here?"
“yeah do you want me to get it?"
“yes please Louis’ car doesn’t have a car seat" you say your ex nods before going to grab it. You waited outside, even though you two were on good terms you didn’t step foot in the house unless you had to,
“mummy?" Adam mumbles as he rests his head on your shoulder,
“yes sweetie?"
“who is that man?" he asks,
“this is Louis, can you say hi to Louis for me?" you whisper,
“hi" Adam shyly says to Louis.
“hi little man, how are you?"
“I’m sick"
“aw well mummy will make you better"
“are you going to be my second daddy?" Adam asks not understanding things still.
“no well, uh" Louis starts to say, before your ex helps him out.
“Adam Louis is going to be like me and protect you he isn’t your daddy but he will act like it while you’re with your mummy, just like (ex’s girlfriends name) acts like mummy to you." your ex explains, and you agree,
“so I have 2 mummies and 2 daddies now?" Adam asks,
“no Adam" you start to say, “you only have one mummy and daddy but you have 2 other people who will look after you just like your mummy and daddy would" Louis steps in.
“okay" Adam shrugs,
“good bye" you and Louis say to your ex before leaving.
