Chapter 8 Ex-Girlfriend (Louis's POV)

As me and the boys surround the girl, she started screaming, I show my fangs to make Liam happy, even though I certainly didn't feel happy. I watched as the girl's body became lifeless and still. She could have had a great life and we just so happened to ruin it.

​​"Louis... Louis!" yells Harry in the back of my mind.

​​"Uh, what?" I ask, definitely out of it.

​​"We have to go, we don't want anyone finding us here." he tells me as we all run with our super speed.

​​"Since you have been so out of it this morning, you can have the next person that walks by!" Harry says, looking at me angrily as we run.

​​I stare straight ahead and continue thinking about what the girl's life could have been and what goals she could have had for her life. As I think about these things I find myself near the mall. Harry is staring at me so I stop what I am thinking about and try to pay more attention.

​​"That girl over there can be your breakfast." H tells me, pointing to a girl siting on a bench reading a book.

​​I've seen that girl before, before I became a vampire, I can't think of her name at the moment but I know I have seen her before. Then as I think a little harder I remember... she was my Ex-girlfriend. I just stare at the girl, not wanting to move from where I stood.

​​"Earth to Louis!" Zayn looks at me like a crazy person.

​​"I can't kill her." I say, putting my foot on it this tme. As I say it, I look at Niall and he is shaking his head. Then I look at Harry and he looked like he was getting very mad. If we were human, I am sure his face would be as red as a tomato.

​​ "You can't just never drink human blood... If you don't kill her, then Zayn will!" he says, and he points to her again.

​​"I am not going to let you kill her... you are going to have to get through me first." I say feeling a litle bit confident until Harry explodes.

Harry starts waking over to me. Thankfully Zayn and Liam go in between us and keep him away from me. Niall motions me to run, so I run home. I make it home pretty fast, obviously with my fast running. I run up to my room and close the door. I hope that I did the right thing... I wouldn't want my Ex-girlfriend to be dead because of me. If I ever killed someone I loved I would never be the same person I am today. Never in a million years will Harry get me to kill someone I love... Never!

​​A few minutes later, I hear a knock on the door. I sensed Niall so I let him in.

​​"What was that all about?" he asks, obviously wanting to know why I was so against killing the girl.

​​ "It's hard to explain." I tell him, hoping he will not want to continue with this topic.

​​"You can trust me, I won't tell anyone, unless you let me.." He replies, sitting on the bed with me.

​​"Well it started when I was 16..." I start.

(Flash back)

​​I was about 16 and every day at school I would look towards a certain girl in my class. I always had a crush on that girl, for as long as I can remember. One day I got the nerve to ask her out. She said yes and we went on a few dates. Eventually she decided that we weren't meant to stay together, so she broke up with me over the phone. It hurt me a lot but I couldn't sand not being friends with her, so I called her back to make sure that we could just be friends. Then came Lizzy and everything changed.

​​"And the girls name?" Niall asks me.

​​"My Ex... oh Arial." I tell him.

​​"So that would explain why you were so against killing her, she's apart of your past." Niall understands.

​​"What if Harry pushes me to the limit and I accidentally kill someone I love." I say, beginning to cry.

​​"I won't let that happen, Louis, that's what friends do." he replies.

​​"Thanks." I say, now starting to stop crying.

​​We hug and then we hear Harry downstairs calling my name. I feel a little scared to hear what he has to say. It isn't going to do me any good, I'm sure of it. Me and Niall walk out of my room and head downstairs where the rest of the group was.

​​"What in the world were you doing out there?! you need blood and you resist one innocent human!" Harry yells at me, looking straight into my eyes.

​​"Harry can't you just leave Louis alone!" Niall says to defend me.

​​ "Why should I Niall?" he yells putting a of his attenyion on Niall now.

​​"That girl was a part of my past and I didn't want to kill her." I say, making sure Niall desn't get brought into this.

​​"Oh, well let's hope we don't bump into anyone else from your past next time." Zayn says sarcastically.

​​ "Louis and Niall can go and hunt together and make sure that Louis gets his lunch." Harry explains.

​​ Harry looks straight into my eyes once again and then walks into the kitchen. Me and Niall head out once again for some breakfast.

​ We go into the city, careful not to be caught, and head towards the alleys. I actually found someone that wasn't from my past. I didn't want to kill her, or anyone at that, but I had to or else I might go crazy from hunger. As I hold the lifeless body, it reminds me how much more I have changed and how I am a monster. We go hunting for Niall and then we head home.
