Part 13

"We try and fill the kids little brains with knowledge so they can start school when a family takes them."The manager of the orphanage was giving us a tour of the place."The kids are in the gym right now and then they have lunch.So we can head down to the gym adn then the cafeteria.Then you can let us know what your thoughts are when we are done."I nodded and she led us to the gym.She opened the doors and there were kids everywhere.

"GIVE ME THAT!"I heard screams everywhere.But this little girl was screaming like someone stabbed her.

"NO WAY YOU BABY!"The other kid that took the blanket stuck his tongue out.I walked over to him.My heels making a loud clack everytime they hit the floor.The kids silenced and made an isle free of anything.

"Excuse me,is that your blankie."The little girl sucked on her thumb and nodded.I looked over at the boy.

"How old are you?"

"8 years old.How about you,60?"I took a deep breath.

"21.Thank you very much and why did you take her blankie."The little girl tugged on my pencil skirt.I looked at her and she waved for me to bend down.I did and she whispered in my ear.

"He says I am a baby and I need to grow up because no one loves me."Her sweet little voice made my heart break.

I stood up and walked to the boy and held my hand out."It is not yours so you need to return it to her right now."He looked at me then at the little girl.

"Here,you baby."He threw the blanket at her and she picked it up and shook it off.

I walked back to Ryan.

"That was,incredible."He put his arm around me as we watched the kids.

"She is just so little and adorable.She seems so sweet too."Then I saw the little girl crying in the corner."I'll be back."He nodded and I walked over to her.

"What's the matter?"I put my hand on her shoulder and she winced.

"He said........He said he is gonna beat me up again."She sobbed.

"Come here.I will not let him touch you.I promise."She wrapped her little arms around my neck and lied her  head on my shoulder as she sniffled.I picked her up and went to Ryan.

"Here,can you say hi to Ryan?"She looked at him and continued sucking her thumb.

"Hi there little princess."He rubbed her back.

"Is there a problem?"The lady came over to us.

"Yes,that little boy,is picking on her.And he beats her up."I rubbed her back and she smiled at me.

"Well,she is the youngest here,and she is too sweet."I looked at her like she had three heads.

"Too sweet?Too young?Are you kidding me?I thought your paper said you love these children?"She sounded like a monster.

"That is just terrible.I don't even wanna hear it.You don't realize that we can bring this to court."Her eyes widened.

"You can't do that."

"Oh,I believe we can,We are both lawyers."I said putting my hand on my hip.

"We are gonna take her."Ryan said.

"What?Why her?"I rolled my eyes.

"Because she is adorable,sweet,kind,and innocent.This is no place for her to be if you allow children twice her size,to hit on her.So we are taking her today.Papers please."She was shocked.

"R,,,r,,right this way."I nodded and walked with the little girl on my hip.Still sucking her thumb and gripping her blankie.

"Am I leaving Ryan?"She looked at Ryan.Ryan laughed.

"Yes,you are gonna be very safe where we take you,there is a yard,and a pool,neighbors and you will go to school and you will have yummy meals made by Kalya."Her face lightened with joy.

"Are you my new mommy and daddy?"I can't take the cuteness!

"Yes.And we will take good care of you my princess."Ryan said.

"My name isn't princess,silly."She giggled.

"Then what is your name?"I asked while laughing.

"My name is Giovanna."I looked at Ryan and he smiled.

"That is a beautiful name Giovanna."She smiled.

"I can't believe you Ryan."He looked at me as he stopped at the red light.

"What did I do?"

"You are such a baby.You fell in love with her right there."He chuckled.

"Hey,she needed a family and she also needed to get out of there.We really should take it to court,but the government will step in soon enough."I nodded.

I looked back at the sleeping child.Yet again,with her little thumb in her mouth and holding her old little blankie.

"Our first child.I can't wait to go shopping!"He looked at me like I was crazy."You should know I am shopper by know."He rolled his eyes.

"Oh,I know."I punched him in the arm lightly.

"How about we take her shopping wth us tomorrow after work?"

"Work?Who will stay with her?I'll call off."

"We should go over this whole thing.I mean it all happened so quick we didn't consider work and school and stuff.Maybe Clarissa can give you Maternity leave.You know,as if you had a new born.Just to give us sometime.I don't want to just rush into daycare because she needs to get used to us."He parked int he drive way.

"Exactly.I will call tomorrow."He nodded.

We got out and he went to get Giovanna.She was knocked out completely.

Obviously we haven't prepared a room for her so we had her in our bed.Between Ryan and I.

I feel like our little family is already perfect!
