My tears had stopped as Spring began to walk me inside, but then I noticed Big walking through the halls with a group of friends.

I rushed over, calling his name, but two of the group stopped me.

"Woah, where do you think you're going?" A lioness asked of me.

"Veda, stop." Big said, walking over. "Hey Neko, what can I do for you?"

I looked down at me feet for a moment, and he waved away his friends and put a hand on my shoulder. "What is it? You can tell me anything."

"Did you... Did you find other cat girls or a boy who looks like me?"

"Neko, I've seen a lot of blonde cat girls and boys here. Who exactly are you looking for?"

I choked out the words; "my family."

I felt embarrassed as the tears welled in my eyes, but Big simply hugged me and told me it would be ok.

"I'll do my best to find them. What are their names? Where do you think they are?"

"Leo is my brother, and my older sisters are Lie and Fii. They were taken by snatchers like me..."

"Neko, if the Snatchers have them there's not much I can do, but if I find them I'll do my best to bring them here."

I nodded, and dried my eyes. "Thank you."

He smiled. "Alright Neko, run along. Take care!"

I cracked a smile, and returned to Spring, who wiped a tear from her eyes.  "I'm sorry about your family Neko!"

I nodded. "I'll find them again."

Spring checked her watch. It was time for lessons. I had not yet been enrolled in any classes, so I spent the time exploring instead.

The library of BlackTail was incredible, but I wasn't confident in my reading skills. I wandered over to the GoldWing house; the walls and many designs had a majestic white and gold, with purple doors and fabrics.

I wandered the halls, and accidentally stumbled across Stallion again. I hid before he noticed me, and took another peak. He had a different girl pressed up against the wall, and he was kissing her. She was a tomboyish bird girl with pretty feathery wings in place of arms. They quivered in delight as their tongues met, and he began to fondle her small breasts with his hand.

Suddenly his eyes darted in my direction, and he pulled away from the girl and grinned, and I took off running. I ran down to the first floor, and-

BAM

I fell on my butt, aching from bumping into someone.

Just as I was about to hiss at her, I noticed her. She was a pretty bird girl with straight albino hair and white feathers. She struggled to stand as she only had her wings to help her. I went to help her, and couldn't help but notice her perky boobs, not particularly large, but more than a handful, held within a thin sports bra - just about the only thing bird girls could wear.

I noticed a pair of glasses beside her, so first, while apologizing profusely, I helped her to her feet, then I put her glasses on her face for her - cute thin framed ones. She smiled. She was much shorter than I.

"Umm hi," she stammered shyly. "I'm sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going!"

"It's my fault, I was running. I'm Neko by the way."

"I'm Mira, it's nice to meet you Neko!"

"Are you in lessons too? Does GoldWing house have lessons?" I asked.

"We do but I'm new here," she said, shaking her feathers. "What about you?"

"I'm new too! Hey, do you want to explore with me? I was just about to check out RedPaw house!"

Mira smiled and nodded excitedly. "Yes I'd love to!"

We walked together towards RedPaw and Mira told me all about GoldWing and its head supervisor, a falcon boy who loved sports, whom everyone nicknamed Coach. He seemed much nicer than Maven.

We explored the empty auditorium in RedPaw House, and wandered it's red and gold halls. It was louder than the other houses, and music filled the air. Finally, they went back to BlackTail, and to my room.

Mira and I both sat on my bed, and she stretched out her wings.

"Thank you," she said quietly.

"For what?" I turned to look at her.

She blushed a little. "I was really lonely, and I felt like no one really wanted to hang out with me, and then I met you and my first friend happens to be the prettiest cat here!"

I went a little red too. "Well I'm pretty lucky. I mean, I met the prettiest bird!"

She looked away, flushed, so I gently licked her warm cheek. She looked into my eyes, hers wide, and leaned a little closer.

"Neko," she whispered, as her eyes closed.

I leaned in closer, my hand on her cheek, my lips drawing in....

SLAM!

Spring threw open the door without warning, causing me to nearly jump out of my skin.

"Roomie!" She yelled out. "didja miss me!"
