The rugby team piled into the Sanctuary's coach bus, along with Coach and the Director himself.

We drove for over an hour, and I looked out the window the whole time.

We pulled up to the ranch. It was a large two story building with a massive rugby field, track field, and soccer field. There were stables and two small dorm houses, and inside the stables were real horses and cows.

There were dozens of pony boys and girls there, all collared, and in front of them were three humans - a younger, fit man who was muscular and as hot at Stallion, a skinny, long haired native woman, and an older man with a bit of a gut, who wore cowboy boots and a hat, and had short, greying hair and a grey moustache.

The Director got off the bus, and we all followed suit, and he walked right up to the man with the hat and they hugged.

"Richie!" The man said.

"Good to see you Frankie," the Director replied, then he turned to the young humans. "Kachina, Jake, you've grown!"

Stallion walked up to a darker skinned Pony boy who was at least a head taller, and shook his hand.

"Elan!" Stallion said to him.

"Good to see you, Stallion!" Elan replied in a booming voice.

Elan introduced us all to the boys team, and in return, Mustang introduced his team to us, while the Director and Coach talked to the humans.

Finally, Frankie walked over.

"Welcome to Horse Tail Ranch! Come on, let's do the 5 cent tour!" He said gleefully.

"This ranch was built by me with one philosophy in mind - if we mistreat our pony boys and girls, not only would we hurt them, but it is actually impractical! I created this Ranch to prove that raising pony boys with trust, respect and love will always produce better, stronger athletes," Frankie explained.

After our long tour, we were taken to the field, where we did warm ups and stretches with the Ranch's team.

And finally, we began to set up for the game, as The Director, Frankie and Kachina stood beside the stables.

The game was about to begin, but suddenly Jake ran across the field, full sprint, and we all stared at him.

He said something to Frankie and the Director, and they looked panicked. Coach ran over, spoke to the director for a second then called Stallion and I over.

"What is it?" Stallion asked as we got close.

Coach didn't answer, he just grabbed our arms and dragged us into the stables, and to the stalls behind the Director.

"Hide here!" He said. "It's the snatchers!"

He ran back out, and Stallion and I crouched down and peeked through a small crack in the stable walls.

I saw a man approach with a snatcher on either side. He wore a collared shirt with no tie, with his sleeves rolled up. His brown hair was short and straight, and he wore rectangle framed glasses, and had a slender frame.

Stallion looked terrified as he saw the man approach.

"What's wrong?" I asked him.

He looked at me. "That man... That's Salem Romero, he's the head of Anthropomorphs Care and Rescue Team! He's the guy who controls the Snatchers."

"He does?" I whispered.

Stallion nodded. "That man is a monster."

"Franklin, Richard," Salem said as he approached.

"This is private property, Romero. And I don't remember inviting you," Frankie growled.

"Oh relax. a little birdie told me you had a game today, so I came to watch. What's the harm? You have nothing to hide, right?" He replied, standing right between them.

Coach wandered off and started the game, and Salem turned to the Director. "Say Richard, did you hear about that break in one of my shelters had?"

The director nodded. "I did. I hope the damages weren't too costly."

"We lost a good number of pets, but it's no matter. Here's the funny thing though. All of the one that were broken out vanished! Poof! As if they never existed. Not one recovered," Salem said.

"Well it's a big city," the Director replied.

"It is. But you know, our cameras managed to get pictures of all 10 suspects. A wolf brat who's been on our list for a while, a cat girl and a mouse girl who escaped our cages, a butterfly girl we'd been looking for, another cat girl, a pony girl, a bird girl, a raccoon girl and two dog girls."

"I wish I could help you out, Romero. Truly," the Director said disingenuously.

"You know, I heard an interesting rumour. I heard that the day of the break out, all of your rescue trucks were out in that neighbourhood," he responded.

"If you're implying that we-"

"No, no there's no need to get defensive. I'm not accusing you," Salem said. "But I did notice something rather odd from the latest report my investigation teams did. It seems that you're missing 6 girls. A cat, a bird, a raccoon, a pony, and 2 dogs. A curious coincidence."

"I don't know what to say except that I don't know anything about your unfortunate B and E," the Director replied.

Salem nodded and was quiet for a time, then he excused himself, and left with his snatchers, but Stallion and I remained hidden.
