I roll over in my bed and stretch widely to wake my self up. With my eyes still closed I push myself into a seated position on my bed. I gently open my eyes and look across at Tyler's bed.
Empty.
How could someone that inebriated still manage to get up at...
Wait, I check the time on my phone.
Whoa 11:42
I rush around getting ready, washed dressed and just brushing my hair and throwing it into a messy bun.
I run out the bedroom door into the living room with one shoe on hopping to get my other one on.
I stand up straight and look at the empty living room.
You've got to be joking, they left without me!
"Morning sugar!" Tyler popped his head out from the kitchen and beamed at me.
"Sleep well?" I stared at him for a while.
He was so drunk yesterday he couldn't stand and now he's fine. Bouncing around like a two year old.
"Yeah I suppose. Why are you so happy?" I questioned.
"Ah well, when you're a big tough man like myself, alcohol doesn't effect you. Also..." He stepped towards me closing the distance with every word he said.
"Were... home... Alone." His face was inches from me, his minty breathe fanned across my cheek. I blushed and stepped backwards.
"Yeah I noticed, where is everyone?" I asked trying to level my breathing.
He smirked and stepped backwards as well.
"They went up to the 'Jumping Rock'." I huffed loudly.
"Without me! Ugh." He smiled.
"Why do you think I'm here baby doll. I said I'd stay here so that when you got up, I'd take you there. And then we'd go meet the others." He winked at me and I just scowled back.
"Just take me to the rock." I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Fine, fine. But its you that's missing out." He walked right up to me again and looked me up and down.
"Oh," he whispered in my ear, "and you're chest looks amazing in that top, especially when you cross your arms like that." He winked again and jogged outside to the car.
I stood there astounded. Why do I let him say these things, and why do they have such an effect on me?
I think about Dane for a while and feel like I'm going to burst into tears. I slowly walk out to the car and jump into the front seat.
"Why didn't Dane offer to stay and take me? He can drive, and you know, he's my boyfriend." I don't know whether I added that last part to remind him or myself.
"I dunno." He shrugged.
"As they were leaving Ashley said someone should probably wait for you so you didn't get upset. No one offered, guess they wanted to get to that rock. I offered and they left. So yeah. Ask your precious boyfriend when you get there." He looked angry.
My own boyfriend didn't offer to wait for me... But Tyler did.
I sat in the front seat in total silence the whole car ride. I felt guilty for more than one reason. Maybe Tyler isn't so bad.
My head hurts. I'm so confused.
When we finally reached the rock I jumped out and ran to Dane. I kissed him and pulled him close.
"I missed you!" He spun me round and smiled at me.
"Yeah, I missed you too. Can I just quickly ask, why didn't you wait for me? Why did Tyler have to take me." I stare at him for a while.
"Well, you know, we were leaving for the rock and he offered so I just thought why not? Plus Summer wanted me to drive her." He smiled at me and kissed my nose. He ran over to the guys, and I noticed Summer was in the middle of all of them. I scowled and started to strip off to get ready to jump.
"Whoa princess. You could kill someone with that look." Tyler was stood next to me in his shorts. I almost drooled over his body, but I didn't.
"Yeah well, the fact that my boyfriend chose to drive Summer up here rather than me, is kind of rude. And he says hi to me then runs right back over to her. God." I glared at her harshly.
"Well, you seem like you need lightening up."
I was about to ask what perverted thing he had in mind, when he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder.
"No! Tyler put me down! Oh my god!" Before I knew it Tyler had climbed to the top of the rock. He put me down and held my hand.
"And I meant cheering up, you know in the friendliest way possible." I loom at our hands and smile at him.
"Thank you Tyler." He grinned.
"Plus were totally making Dane jealous." He winked.
I look over his shoulder at Dane glaring at us, mostly our hands. I giggle.
"Ready?" He looks over the edge and I nod.
"Let's go!" We take a running start and jump over still holding hands. We land at the same time causing a massive splash. I swim up to the surface and grin. I look around for Tyler, but he's nowhere to be seen.
"Tyler?" I start to get worried, when he jumps from the water and engulfs me in his arms.
He laughs over my shoulder and hugs me tight. I turn around to face him.
"You scared me!" I say punctuating every word with a slap on his chest.
He continuous to laugh.
"See," he says calming down, "I knew you cared about me really." He pushes a stray hair behind my ear and smiles at me.
He rests his hand on my cheek.
I look over to were my friends, and more importantly boyfriend is.
"Don't worry." He whispered.
"Were covered by the rock." He leans towards and my breathe hitches.
I think about what he said last night. I know I want him, but I love Dane. I stare at his face, less than an inch from mine. Then I move.
