Xoxo,

Belle

"Are you positive that this is exactly what happened?" I questioned the girl standing before me. I took in her big blue eyes and long eyelashes and felt immediate sorrow for her. She was about 12, with short blonde hair and had freckles running across her nose. The pink summer dress she was wearing was a little torn at the bottom. I bit my lip as she nodded. She smiled a sad smile as the tears that rimmed her eyes threatened to fall. 'Man, I wish I could give her a hug' I thought. But I couldn't. I got up from sitting on my knees on the floor and straightened my outfit. I was wearing medium dark jeans, my converse high tops, and a black ruffled shirt. I ran a hand through my shoulder length brown hair and took a deep breath. I smiled a little and grabbed my purse and keys.

"I'll meet you there." I said. She nodded and left the room.

"Wait!" she yelled. I turned around and she was standing behind me with a dark brown chest in her hands. It looked like a jewelry box, but it had an old silver lock on it, keeping it closed. "This is all you need. The key is taped underneath." she added before leaving.

I exited the house and took in my image in the hallway mirror. My hair was a little messy, but it was straightened from this morning. I had very pale skin with some freckles across my face. I was 5'8 and about 155 pounds; pretty average for a 17 almost 18 year old girl. I walked through the front door and to my car to go home and get ready for the service.

I slowly walked into the church wearing a modest black dress and a black headband. The church was an old catholic church with dark brown wood floors and cream colored walls. Several stained glass windows were on each wall, above the pews that lined the walls to my left and right. Ahead was a big podium surrounded in pink roses with a black casket in front of it, also covered in pink roses. I took a seat towards the back of the church to allow the family and friends to sit up closer to the casket. I couldn't help but feel guilty that I only arrived to tell all the teary eyed people how Danielle died.

Eventually the priest took the stand at the front of the church and began speaking.

"Dearly beloved, we are together today to celebrate the life of Danielle Marie Ecklebeck. Death is inevitable, but we all know that her life was taken too early. Now we all know that it was all in God's great plan, but at least she is now in a better place and out if her pain."

He continued to speak about her and allowed people to say a few words. There were friends who told a story about a birthday of hers they went to, or a family member saying how cute she was as a baby, or how they visited her in the hospital when she was born.

When the volunteers began to thin out, I noticed people starting to look at me and trying to send signals for me to go up there. Everyone knew who I was; the town's psychic teenager. I took a deep breath and walked to the front. I heard my heels clicking along the floor as I made my way up to the front as the room went silent. As i passed her parents in the front row, her mother was crying, but gave me a look of gratitude. Her father just glared at me. He didn't like the idea of me being there because he thought I was a fake.

I cleared my throat and looked around for Danielle. She was standing by the church doors and waved a little bit when we made eye contact. I set the unlocked jewelry box she gave me on top of the podium. I smiled and nodded discretely at Danielle and sighed.
