14. V: Cinderella

I rode into the woods with my horse.
A black stallion, a total beauty.
I'm y/n, I live in a big house with my stepmother and two stepsisters called victoria and Krystal. We live outside of Seoul in a place where almost nobody ever comes. We're surrounded by trees and just nature. I don't mind, I love the calmness around me.
The problem is..
My father died a few years ago and my stepmom and sisters aren't the nicest people.
They normally don't even allow me to leave the house but today I got the chance to go out by myself.

When I was deep into the woods, I got off of my horse and walked for a while with my horse following me. I had a cute little basket with me and collected some berries and put them in the basket.

While I was doing that, my horse was getting impatient. I shushed him and tried to calm him down. But he pulled his head away from me and ran away.
I screamed "NO KUHN COME BACK"
I dropped the basket with the berries and ran after him.
Ofcourse, I wasn't fast enough.
Soon enough he was out of my sight.
I stopped running because I was out of breath but still continued walking in the direction he went.

After a few minutes of walking i heard someone say "your highness we found a horse without a person on it. What should we do with it?"
I didn't hesitate and ran in the direction the voices came from.
I saw 2 men without horse standing next to my horse and one man who was dressed quite casual and who was riding a horse. I walked up to them and said "How dare you touch MY horse"
The men looked at me shocked and confused. The casually dressed man said " how dare YOU talk to ME like that, don't you know who I am?!"
He looked kinda angry at me.
I shook my head "I don't know you, and I don't want to know you" i said while I walked towards my horse. One of the men grabbed my wrists and helf them behind my back. "What are you doing" I asked. "You may not know me but I am prince Taehyung, soon to be king" the man on the horse said again. I laughed and looked at him like he had lost his mind. "Do you think that's funmy?" He asked. "Oh you weren't kidding?" I answered. He shook his head. My eyes widened and I didn't know what to say. He gave me a little smile and said "it's okay"
"I'm really sorry your highness!" I said after a while. He laughed this time. "It doesn't matter now, what does matter is that I'm organising a ball. Tomorrow evening. And you are officially invited now" he said "oh and you can call me taehyung or Tae or V whatever you feel like"
"Oh thank you your highness- uhm Taehyung but I am afraid I can't come tomorrow" I said. My stepmom will never let me go. "Oh what a shame... And why is that?" Taehyung asked.
"Well, you see, my stepmom is quite strict and she will never let me go to s ball" i explained while I looked at him sadly.
"Your stepmom is the least of my worries right now, you're coming. And I will personally take you there if I have to" he said.
I looked at him confused "No I'm not going, I'm very sorry sir"
He got off of his horse and walked up to me. I could finally see his face closer up. He had very beautiful brown eyes and he was quite tall probably because I am only 1,60m (my real height idk bout u srry)
He slowly walked around me for a bit while studying me from head to toe.
"Take her with us" he said to his guards after a while.
"What-" was everything I could say before one of the guards threw me over his shoulder. "No please sir taehyung! I'm going to get into so much trouble because of you!" I yelled.
I tried to get out of the guard's grip but he held onto me with his strong arms so I soon gave up and just relaxed.
As far as you can call laying over someone's shoulder 'relaxed'

After an hour or so we reached a huge castle. "That's my home" Taehyung said.
I was tired and my back was hurting so I was getting moody. "Great, yeah I'm so happy for you, wow" O said sarcastically. He rolled his eyes at me and couldn't hold back a smile.
"I don't know what it is about you, but I like you" tae said. Yeah right.... Me, a farmer's girl is being fancied by a prince.

We arrived at the castle and the guard finally put me down. What I hadn't noticed was that the other guard had brought my horse with him. Taehyung pointed at another building "can you bring the horse to the stables please?" He said to the guard.
The guard walked away and we entered the castle.

Taehyung took my hand and started to lead me around the enormous castle.
It was already in the evening and I was REALLY getting tired now.
At last, we reached the room I would stay in. "Welcome in your room!" Taehyung said excited. I looked wide eyed at the room. It was huge. A king sized bed and a bathroom. "Have a good night sleep and I will see you tomorrow with breakfast" Tae said and I quickly bowed to him. "Thank you for all of this sir" he gave me a playful push and said "get up you dummy don't be so polite to me. I never witnessed someone who didn't know me. And it actually feels good to have a normal conversation instead of someone calling me your highness and all that polite stuff" he explained.
"oh yeah I can understand that. Then if you insist, I will stop being polite to you" I said smiling. He laughed and nodded "please"
We said our goodnights and he left 'my' room. I laid down on the kind sized bed and didn't even think of my step mom or sister anymore. This was heaven.

The next morning I was woken up by Tae. "Wake up sleeping beauty, it's time for breakfast. By the way, you look really cute when you're sleeping" he whispered the last part but I could still hear him and I laughed at him "How long have you been here?" I asked while I slowly opened my eyes. "Long enough" he said and disappeared right after that.

I laughed and got out of bed.
I dressed myself and went downstairs for breakfast.
There was a huge table but only two people were sitting there. Taehyung and his father aka the king.
I bowed and greeted them.
I sat next to taehyung and as soon as I sat he kicked my leg. "What did I say about being polite?!" He whispered.
"I have to be polite to your father now shush" I said.
"So Taehyung, are you excited for tonight" the king asked.
"Yes father I am indeed"
"Great, I too am really excited for you, you're finally getting married"
At that moment, I choked on a piece of bread and when I recovered, my face was incredibly red. I felt so ashamed 😯.
"You didn't tell me you had a girlfriend" I whispered to taehyung.
"That's just the point, I don't" he laughed a little.
"I have to choose a girl at the ball tonight. And since you are invited as well, you could become my wife"
Then I almost choked, again. I'm 18 is he crazy!?

LET'S SKIP TO THE EVENING.

It was 7 o'clock, one hour to go and then the ball would start. I was getting ready and I looked at myself in the mirror. I wore a red dress and I had curled my hair a bit. I never looked this nice in my whole life. A guard came into my room "sorry to disturb you miss y/n but you have to go to the ballroom" i nodded and followed him to the ballroom. There were a lot of girls, some prettier than me and some... Not.
People stared at my and I didn't understand why.
After a while it was finally 8 o'clock and the ball started.
Taehyung came into the ballroom with his father and he announced "In just a moment, I will choose my princess"
A lot of girls screamed while he walked through the crowd, looking and talking to some girls. Then, his eyes landed on mine and he smiled. He walked up to me confidently and took my hand.
"Helly y/n. When I first met you, I knew you were going to be my new princess. And my opinion hasn't changed" he said. People were now staring even more.
"Do you want, to be my new princess?" He asked me.
I slowly smiled and nodded without even thinking.
He smiled from ear to ear and gave me a kiss on my cheek.
What I didn't even notice, was that I was going to be a queen. But that was the least of my worries right know ;)
