everything looks different in the dark. if someone was climbing a tree in the day, you would automatically assume that he is just climbing the tree for the fun of it.
however, if you see someone climbing a tree at night, you would probably assume that he is up to no good. that is the way darkness works.
you might be wrong, the man during the day might be planning the robbery, while the man at night might be surprising his niece. even so, that is the way darkness works.
