Ch 8. The Preliminary rounds

we made it, finally. We all stood in a line, 24 people. I looked around, kibas team, shikamaru's team, gaara's team, dosu's team, neji's team, kabuto's team and our team. That would be 3, 15, 24 people. I looked around saw all different sensei's, even orochimaru in a sound ninja body.

The hokage stood in front up in front of us. "good job of making it this far, now it is time for the preliminary round." he said. Everyone looked at each other. "you mean, there is another round before the finals?" kiba asked as he crossed his arms. "we don't get a break?" whined ino. I rolled my eyes. I grabbed my shoulder as a sirius pain went though it. I glared up at him, orochimaru. He smirked at me. I kept my hand on it.

"is there anyone that gives up? If you do raise your hand." the hokage said. So far no one did.

Sakura and Sasuke was looking at me. "Candace are you o.k? Do you think you need to step down?" Sakura asked me. "no, I'm Fine." Sakura frowned as she turned back around. The first battle was on, it was Sasuke v.s Yoroi. Everyone was had to get on the banners as we watched. I sat down and smiled as i knew it wouldn't take sasuke long. Sasuke and Yoroi battled. Yoroi tried to take sasukes chakra but sasuke didnt let him. Soon, sasuke won by lions barrage. I clapped for him as I grabbed my shoulder, in pain again.

Next was Shino v.v Zaku, Shino won. Then it was Kankuro v.s Misumi, Kankuro won. After them was Sakura v.z Ino, no one one. We all had a brake. I went to the bath room and ran some water. I cleaned my face. I heard the door closed and looked up to see kabuto. "What are you doing here? This is a girls restroom!" I yelled as I glared at him. He smirked. "you think your so smart, cherry." I glared at him as I grabbed his shirt and slammed him against the wall. "only my friends call me that. Not a ass hole that works for a bigger ass hole who killed me family. Why does Orochimaru want me?" I asked as me hands still held him on the wall. He smirked. "you would just have to see, see you around cherry." and with that he was gone. I growled as I slammed the wall. I looked at myself in the mirror. I did some hands signs as my red hair darken and shorten. My blue eyes turned redish brown. I had new clothes on. I smiled as I left the room happy.

I came out and naruto, sasuke, and Sakura smiled at my new look. "looking good candace." naruto said as he gave me a thumbs up. I smiled.

The next match was Temari v.s Ten-Ten, Temari won. After them was Kin v.s me. I smirked as I jumped down. Kin also came down. "this is pay back for zaku." she said as I smirked. We started and kin threw sinbons at me. I dodged everyone. She frowned and threw more , but with bells. I listen to then and dodged them. I smirked as I saw the string. I could see she was holding it. I smiled.

"what you smiling at?" I laughed. "you forgot that I can see the string that is attached from the sinbons to you, so all I got to do is this." I grabbed the string and did hands signs. "electric style: body shock!" I yelled as a line of electric shocked down the string and hit kin. Her body was shocked and she fell to the floor. "winner: candace miller." I smiled as I won. 'was to easy.' I thought. Next was shikamaru v.s Kabuto. "wait!" yelled Kabuto. We all looked at him. "I forfite." he told them, so shikamaru won that won. I smirked as I knew he wasn't going to fight.

Next up was Naruto v.s Kiba. "ha, this is going to be a piece of cake." Kiba said as him and akamaru went down. I slapped naruto on the back. "break a leg naruto, I'm with you all the way." I told him with a smile. He grinned at me as he jumped down. His battle wnt on for thirty minutes. But in the end naruto won. I smiled as I clapped for him. On his way back up, hinata gave him some ointment. I smiled as those two where the cutiest couple ever.

After naruto and Kiba was. I frowned as I looked at the field. It was hinata and neji up. Neji kept talking on about the lower branch and the main branch. "shut up, Neji! You don't know what hinata has gone though to get where she is. Just shut up!" I yelled as I gripped the bar too hard and made my hand bleed. naruto agreed with me. Hinata smiled as she started to fight for real, but in the end. "no!" I yelled as hinata hit the floor. Naruto and I jumped down and went to her. I glared at neji on my way. I bent down next to hinata. I opened her jacket and placed my hands over her stomach. My hands turning a green chakra color. She was going to die if the medical ninjas didn't come and get her. She looked at me with half opened eyes. Naruto Was next to me. "is she alright." I slowly nodded. "she will be now." I said as the medical ninjas came and toke her away. I let go of her hand as it fell. "you did change hinata, you did change." I whispered.

We all went back up on the stands as the next two of people. My eyes widen as I knew who where going to fight. Gaara and Rock Lee. I frowned as I shook my head and watched the matched. Lee tried everything thing to get past gaaras sand. He even took the weights off, but that didn't help much. Lee opened the eight gates to defeat gaara. I started to cry. Gaara made his sand go after Lee. It crushed his left arm and leg.

"Rock Lee!" I yelled as I wanted to help, but I couldn't. In the end, gaara won and Lee was badly hurt. Last match was dosu v.choji, dosu won.

We all stood in a line. I was next to dosu and temari. The hokage toke us that we need tonpick a piece of paper in the jar to see who we are fighting.

Naruto-1, gaara-4, me-10, kankuro-6, shikamaur-7, temari-8, dosu-9, neji-2,Saskue-3, and Shino-5. We had three months to get ready. I sighed as I went to leave, Kakashi grabbed me. "candace, can we talk." I nodded as we left to a dark room.

"candace, we need to seal the curse Mark." he said. I sighed as I toke my shirt off and had a sport bra on. I sat on the floor. He started to draw the kanjis on my body. He did the hand signs and the seal was on me. I was so tried now.

We heard clapping and to see orochimaru. I glared at him. I was to weak to fight him. He told Kakashi how he was going to get me and sasuke. "you leave sasuke alone!" I yelled at him. He smirked at me as he left. I wobbled a lettle, and fell forwards. Kakashi cought me. I had fainted because of the pain in my shoulder.
