Images of home flash before my eyes. Lora sits next to me and everyone we know, laughing together simply because we want too. Lora smiles the widest I have ever seen, for what seems like forever.
Suddenly a loud crack evades my surroundings and pull me farther and farther away from everybody, from Lora. I kick and scream and reach for her hands but nothing happens. Suddenly I'm in the tube that sent me to earth. I bang on the glass, pleading to the empty space around me to let me escape. To see Lora again, when another loud crack rings out making my ears ring. I start to bang harder on the glass, attempting to escape the ringing. Another loud crack makes my head start to spin, and everything around me starts to cave in on me. A final crack rings out before everything stops and I find myself sitting upright in my bed, in my apartment, as a human again.
I attempt to steady my breathing but another crack rings out followed by a bright light and I let out a loud scream. I cover my ears and search in the darkness for the device Glenn gave me. My hand touches the cold screen and I raise the screen into view. Another light flashes accompanied by another crack. I jump almost sending the device flying but I steady it in my hand to save it. I press my finger on the screen and it lights up stinging my eyes, and making them water a little. I unlock the devise and am presented with a series of numbers. Outside of my room erupts in another crack and I scream again attempting to hide myself from the noise.
I press my shaking finger to the number one and hold the phone up to my ear as instructed by Glenn. I wait for what seems like forever, praying the notice doesn't come again. Suddenly a groggy, sleepy voice answers the devise. Speaking calmly to me. " Hello? Margaret? Are you okay?"
My voice wobbles as I reply quietly. " Please come back, I-I think something is, help me please." The device goes silent, and so does the room. I sit there shaking when another crash surrounds me. I run out into the larger room in the apartment and wait for Glenn to come. The room shakes every time the sky cracks around me, causing me to jump each time.
Finally there is a knock at the door, I run and open it as fast as I can and push myself into Glenn's arms begging him to make it stop. He holds me and speaks slowly obviously still somewhat asleep. " The thunder? I promise it can't hurt you. It's just because of the Lightning. "
I shake my head fighting tears back feeling helpless. " No, no please just stay with me. It's not just that. It pulled me away from everyone. I was back, and then-" He pulls me closer into his chest cutting off my speech.
He runs his hand down the length of my hair slowly while reassuring me. " it was just a bad dream, none of that happened. I promise."  We stand there for a few more minutes silently before he cuts in again. " you should go back to sleep." I shake my head slightly.
" please no, I don't want to see that again. Will you stay here with me? Please?" I tip my head back enough to see Glenn smiling tired at me. He nods his head and he heads towards the couch. " let's go to my bed, it's much warmer and more comfortable." His face goes red suddenly, he shakes his head and starts to head towards the couch again but I pull harder, and of course I win.
" F-fine." Glenn responds in a whisper letting his voice wobble. I settle myself into my bead and motion for him to as well. I hug his torso and focus on his warmth, and the beat in his chest. Another crack rings out and I squeeze his arm and let out a small noise. " It's okay, it won't hurt you." Glenn whispers falling asleep. He begins to run his hand down my hair over and over again, calming me down again.
Eventually he has fallen asleep with me still holding his torso and his hand on my back. I look at his sleeping face, it's so pure and calm. He would have been an amazing angel back home. Probably a shining star, and everybody's favourite. I feel calm because of him, and he was willing to help me. I feel greatful for all of his kindness and generosity. I squeeze his torso slightly and whisper into the air around us. " Thank you." Before falling into a perfect sleep.

A faint light pulls me slowly out of a calm sleep, I lay there as motionless as possible with my eyes closed. I imagine myself back home again like in the visions while I slept. I try to remember what it was like to be weightless, to feel like everything is taken care of. A stir in the bed next to makes me open my eyes, it takes them a second to adjust to the bright room around me but Glenn's face quickly comes into my view. He seems to be asleep still, his mouth is open slightly, nearly inaudible is a sound that sounds like a snort. He looks to be okay, but I can't tell from his expressionless face. Could he be choking? No that's impossible, he has nothing to choke on. Is this what sleep sounds like? Do I sound like this when I see visions of myself back home? I look at his face and consider these questions quietly, while listening to the rhythm of the strange sound.
After some time, I decide to remove myself from the warmth of the bed and walk out into the spacious "living room." I take cautious steps as not to disturb Glenn, and make it into the living room with ease. I walk over to the place of fire and light the burnt logs to create another fire. I sit in front of it for a second before walking into the area surrounded by the island. I open a metallic rectangle and see a smaller container that seems to contain a clear liquid. I grab a cup from what I have been informed is a " cupboard" and place it on the counter next to the chilly metallic box. I pour some of the clear liquid into the cup carefully so it doesn't spill and make a mess. I put the small container back and close the cold metallic box. " I see we learned where in the fridge the water is." A groggy voice chimes in snapping me out of my own head.
" Is that what they are called? Well yes, did I do something incorrectly?" Glenn's face twists into a familiar smile.
" No, everything you did was perfect." We both stare at each other in silence before I reply.
" Well then, how was your sleep? You seemed to have fallen unconscious very quickly." Glenn looks at me with a frown almost ashamed of himself.
I take a sip of my water waiting for his reply. " Sorry about that." He rubs his hand on the back of his neck, almost sadly." I was really tired when you called, I hope you didn't mind."
I attempt to put a grin back on his face by smiling as wide as possible. " Of course not, I fell asleep soon after anyways." His face twists into a warm smile, as I finish off my water. Feeling refreshed I excuse myself and walk into the last door in my bedroom and find myself staring into a beautiful bathroom. Everything shines white on the greyish walls. A large tub near the wall looking out yet another translucent wall. I turn the silver taps and watch as an overwhelming amount of water pours out and fills the tub. Once it is filled I derobe and climb in, settling nicely into the warm water.
After soaking for a solid hour, I climb out of the bath nearly slipping in the process but instead letting out a tiny Yelp. I regain my balance and dry my body off with a fluffy material that seems to soak up all of the water on my skin. I step out of the bathroom into the still somewhat overwhelmingly beautiful bedroom. I find the clothing I was wearing yesterday before the cloths I slept in, the leather jacket still extremely comfortable. I step out into the living room and see Glenn sitting in front of the place of fire watching it intently. " What do I do about my hair?" I ask carefully.
My words snap Glenn out of his own world and he looks at me and smiles. "It's nearly dry, just brush through it and use the blowdryer in the bathroom. It's the small machine sitting at the sink." I respond simply with a nod and turn back to the bathroom.
I find the blue blowdryer. I press the circular button on the handle and it roars to life. Hot air explodes from the end, and I find myself surprised for a second. I aim it towards my hair and watch as after only a few minutes my hair is completely dry, and it seems to also be very nicely placed.
I stare at myself in the "mirror" and take a deep sigh. " I think everything will be okay." Speaking to myself may have been odd, but I didn't mind very much. I make my way back out to Glenn and see that he has drifted off to sleep again.
I watch him for a second carefully deciding if I should wake him. I make my way over to him and shake his shoulder slightly and watch as his eyes fly open, and before I can blink he is on his feet with one hand holding my shirt in a fist and the other hand in a fist aimed towards me. I blink and watch as after a second his expression looks horrified and before either of us can say anything he lets go of my shirt and takes a few steps back. " I-I can't believe I, I'm so sorry." He holds his hands towards me somewhat defensively. His face rattled with guilt, he continues his apologies. I take a few steps forward and place my hands on his.
"You are one of them aren't you?" His eyes widen in shock, his mouth opens as if to form words but nothing is said. " No apologies, it's not your fault it's in your blood. All that matters is you didn't do anything, you are better than that. You have proved that you are no longer one of them. " he hangs his head as tears start to well up in his eyes. I wipe them away and slowly hug him, hoping to offer him the same comfort that he has offered me in my short time here.
